[plasmashell] [Bug 476313] New: Plasmashell crash in dual-monitor setup after turning monitors back on

2023-10-29 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476313

Bug ID: 476313
Summary: Plasmashell crash in dual-monitor setup after turning
monitors back on
Classification: Plasma
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.27.9
  Platform: Archlinux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: csx...@gmail.com
CC: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Application: plasmashell (5.27.9)

Qt Version: 5.15.11
Frameworks Version: 5.111.0
Operating System: Linux 6.5.9-arch2-1 x86_64
Windowing System: X11
Distribution: "Arch Linux"
DrKonqi: 5.27.9 [KCrashBackend]

-- Information about the crash:
Laptop + external screen setup with HDMI connection. No sleep and no
hibernation invonved, only screens turning off after preset idle time.
When I 'wake' the computer/monitors up (note again that only the monitors are
turned off), plasmashell is already crashed. If I restart plasmashell from
terminal and send it to the background, closing the terminal usually crashes
plasma again. If I use screen/tmux to restart plasmashell in the foreground and
detach from the terminal multiplexer, plasmashell runs correctly and usually
the crashes stop, until the next system restart.

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.

-- Backtrace:
Application: Plasma (plasmashell), signal: Segmentation fault

[plasma-integration] [Bug 472733] Plasma 6 proposal: Swap the placement of the "OK" and "Cancel" buttons

2023-10-29 Thread Taro Tanaka
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=472733

Sorry if my understanding is something wrong, but before submitting a Qt bug
report/feature request for it, don't we need a consensus among KDE
devs/designers? Or should the design discussion continue in a Qt bug report? Or
is this already approved by the KDE side?

Don't be soft if I was charging like an angry bull you'd know all about it.
Just because I'm being honest and direct and keeping it real doesn't imply I'm
angry, nor does it give anyone any excuse to not receive me well - on the
contrary, I ought to be appreciated for being honest and direct and trying to
get something done instead of faffing about for a decade.

Another thing that happens a lot on bugs.kde.org are developers who have the
knowhow to fix the problem expecting end users to write the code because they
asked for a feature, usually masked as an 'invitation' such as "patches
welcome!" or "looking forward to your contributions". You don't need to be
passive-aggressive about it, if you want help, ask. I'll say yes.

I mean seriously, you provided half of this almost a year ago and it's still
sitting there being ignored, like WTF? It doesn't take 7 years to plan it and
it doesn't take a year to merge it. This happens aLOT on bugs.kde.org, you end
up with cases where people literally sit around talking about how to do it for
10 years and nothing ever happens. I'm the guy who fixes that problem by
calling out how stupid it is.

[k3b] [Bug 476311] New: K3B projects not saving with .k3b extension; Fedora 38

2023-10-29 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476311

Bug ID: 476311
Summary: K3B projects not saving with .k3b extension; Fedora 38
Classification: Applications
   Product: k3b
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@kde.org
  Reporter: awfs...@charter.net
CC: mich...@jabster.pl, tr...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

EXACT STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run K3b.
2. New Project/New AudioCD Project.
2. Add audio files, etc.
3. Save K3B project; it recommends AudioCD0, with no extension of .k3b

OBSERVED RESULT
Then, try to re-open project, browse but no projects found
Manually rename project from x to x.k3b,
project can then be found and loaded. I only stumbled on this requirement.

New, Clean Fedora 38 installation; run into this same issue on multiple
systems.

I cannot locate a "automatically add extension" setting, or no longer exists,
as recommended in this very old bug report;
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138525

Should it NOT recommend AudioCD0, but AudioCD0.k3b?

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: Up to date Fedora 38, Cinnamon Spin, KDE
Plasma 5.110?
(available in About System)

[plasmashell] [Bug 476308] New: Icons Only Task Manager: Icons invisible if not enough space on panel

2023-10-29 Thread Braelin Michelus
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476308

Bug ID: 476308
Summary: Icons Only Task Manager: Icons invisible if not enough
space on panel
Classification: Plasma
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.27.4
  Platform: Archlinux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
Component: Task Manager and Icons-Only Task Manager
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: bmichelu...@gmail.com
CC: qydwhotm...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
***
NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug
symbols.
See
https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports
***

If a certain amount of icons are in the Icons Only Task Manager so that they
don't fit on the panel, instead of resizing, one icon will disappear from the
Task Manager. Switching to the app has no affect. Opening another app will
cause the icons to resize as expected, and the missing icon reappears. Closing
one app also results in the missing icon reappearing.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open enough apps so that one icon disappears from task manager
2. Open one more app

OBSERVED RESULT
One icon will disappear from the task manager

EXPECTED RESULT
Icons in task manager will resize accordingly to fit

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
OS: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.104.0
Qt Version: 5.15.8

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I believe it's exacerbated by the fact my Icons Only Task Manager is centered
on my panel, but the same thing can be done with it in any position on the
panel, so long as enough icons are present.

I have recreated this issue on multiple computers, running different OSes, but
the same Plasma/QT/FW versions.

It affects both X11 and Wayland the same.

See my KReddit post for screenshots:

What happens when you run the program through the command line? If you right
click the application in the launcher, and go to edit-application ->
application, you can see the command line that it tries to run. Then, you can
run that command in the command line.

Right now this doesn't seem to be a KDE problem..

[krita] [Bug 476141] Brush slider is not displaying the actual brush size only on certain brushes

2023-10-29 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476141

--- Comment #3 from johnschiefe...@icloud.com ---
It also seems that the error is somehow related to the software itself. I
deleted the resource folder containing all of the information for the brushes
so that krita could reinstall them and maybe could fix the ink pen issue, so I
reopen krita, let it reinstall the resource folder but then when I use the ink
pen it still has the same problem. I've also deleted and reinstalled the app
itself but it also didn't fix the problem.

Note: So I also deleted the ink pen brush itself (and of course, couldn't find
a way to get it back other than deleting & reinstalling the resource folder).
While I was trying to get the ink pen back, I tried deleting and reinstalling
the app several times, what's interesting is that the app wasn't back in its
default settings, but was as it was when I deleted it. It had the same theme
selected, the same ui configurations, and the ink pen brush was still deleted.
I have no idea why this is because i'm not a tech genius or anything and also
don't know the process behind installing the app (krita) from the krita
website, so if someone could explain why this is, that'd be greatly
appreciated).

I was under the impression the problem was the key exchange algorithm, which is
why `HostKeyAlgorithms +ssh-rsa` fixed it in the past. This is all I have in
my `~/.ssh/config` and SFTP works fine for me.

Luckily, the issue I was attempting to report was constantly reproducible, so
it was easy to test in this case too. Due to this, I've discovered that the
issue occurs only the first time that DrKonqi downloads a debuginfo package.
Subsequent identical crashes activate the debug symbols correctly. For
evidence, see

2023-10-29 Thread Rebecca Breu
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476304

Playing around with it further, I think the line wants to snap to the single
vanishing point first before it decides to latch onto the 2-point assistant.
Only that I have "Snap to single line" enabled where it should stick with the
line first snapped onto. The less precise I am with my line, the bigger the
wiggle. For some lines, it's almost impossible to be precise enough to not get
a wiggle at all.

Screenshot of wiggles

I've set up a 2-point-assistant and a vanishing point. If I draw a line with
snap to assistant that's supposed to snap to the 2-point assistant, the start
of the line often has a small wiggle. "Snap to single line" is activated. See
screenshot.

Drawing the same line in the reverse direction usually doesn't get a wiggle.
Snapping to the single vanishing point doesn't produce any wiggles. If I remove
the single vanishing point, no wiggles either. If I go back to Krita 5.1.5, no
wiggles either with the same setup of assistants.

Hi @Gilles,

I've tested 8.2.0 (revision 6ab20bb9162eba8823081cb7fc15597286c1001b) and it is
much much better, I'd say it is about 50% accurate now. Still not as accurate
as Picasa/Facebook manage.

Anyway please ask the opensuse developers which package you need to install to

[kphotoalbum] [Bug 475976] Path of files for KPA->openwith->Gimp

2023-10-29 Thread Johannes Zarl-Zierl
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475976

It's good that we have a workaround, but I agree with Andreas - we should at
least try to get some insight from the KIO devs on this.
Maybe they can fix this, maybe they can tell us how to fix this. In the worst
case we know we can't fix it because it's a downstream problem...

Thanks everybody for gathering insights on this issue!

If nobody is quicker than me I'll ask for help on #kde-devel some time in the
upcoming week...

[lokalize] [Bug 476302] New: Deleted files are still counted in project statistics

2023-10-29 Thread Yaron Shahrabani
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476302

Bug ID: 476302
Summary: Deleted files are still counted in project statistics
Classification: Applications
   Product: lokalize
   Version: 23.08.1
  Platform: Archlinux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: project management
  Assignee: sdepi...@gmail.com
  Reporter: sh.ya...@gmail.com
CC: aa...@kde.org, sha...@ukr.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
***
Sometimes it's easier for me to combine several different localization tools so
then I find myself downloading POT files to the project folders and convert
them to po using Poedit.
After I'm done with the translation I'm removing the POT and mo file, the
statistics in Lokalize (Project overview) still count the strings for
statistics although the file is not there.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create or use your project.
2. Go to the Project Overview tab.
3. Select one of the folders in your project.
4. Download some POT file into it.
5. Remove the POT file.

OBSERVED RESULT
The file still appears and the statistics show that there are some missing
strings (the number of strings in the POT file).

EXPECTED RESULT
The file should disappear once removed and the statistics should be
recalculated, at least for this specific folder.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Manjaro Linux

KDE Frameworks Version: 5.110.0
Qt Version: 5.15.11
Kernel Version: 6.5.5-1-MANJARO (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I wish there was a manual way to reload, F5 and Ctrl+R are not working, I can
restart Lokalize but that's not a good way to reload and it's very time
consuming.

[krita] [Bug 476300] New: Brush outline not fully rendered on cursor movement

2023-10-29 Thread Lynx3d
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476300

Bug ID: 476300
Summary: Brush outline not fully rendered on cursor movement
Classification: Applications
   Product: krita
   Version: 5.2.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: regression
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: OpenGL Canvas
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: lynx.mw+...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 162703
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=162703=edit
Canvas Screenshot taken while moving cursor

SUMMARY

When the cursor/stylus moves a bit faster, the brush outline is not fully
rendered (see attached screenshot).
>From my attempts to debug it, it seems the dirty area of the canvas widget lags
behind the actual tool outline that gets rendered by one frame.
With small curors, the outline basically becomes invisible when moving the
cursor fast.
As soon as the movement stops, it always seems to render fully though.

It is definitely an issue with the partial canvas update, because when I force
full canvas redraw in code (as is done when fractional UI scaling is enabled),
or use an unpatched Qt, it goes away.

This did not happen with 5.1.5, but happens with 5.2.0 and current master
(tested appimages and my own builds).

[gwenview] [Bug 476299] New: Open containing folder, after selecting multiple images, fails to open a single file dialog window like it use to.

2023-10-29 Thread Marc Chamberlin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476299

Bug ID: 476299
Summary: Open containing folder, after selecting multiple
images, fails to open a single file dialog window
like it use to.
Classification: Applications
   Product: gwenview
   Version: 21.12.3
  Platform: openSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: gwenview-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: m...@marcchamberlin.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Selecting multiple images, then opening the containing folder, use to open a
single dialog window showing the selected images highlighted. Now it opens
multiple dialog windows each window showing just one of the selected images
highlighted. This makes it impossible to do things like renaming the group of
selected files using the auto-incrementing file names feature.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Gwenview in a file directory containing multiple image files.
2. Select a number of images to be displayed all at once.
3. Right click on any image shown, and select "Open Containing Folder"

OBSERVED RESULT
Multiple dialog windows are created, each showing the containing folder, but
with only one file highlighted from the set of selected files.

EXPECTED RESULT
Only one dialog window should be created and opened, showing the files in the
containing folder, and with all selected files highlighted. This allows one to
treat all of the selected files at once, such as renaming them. This is the way
Gwenview has always worked in the past.

[krita] [Bug 476298] New: Undo/redo select picker color

2023-10-29 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476298

Bug ID: 476298
   Summary: Undo/redo select picker color
Classification: Applications
   Product: krita
   Version: 5.1.5
  Platform: Microsoft Windows
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Tools
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: mart...@hotmail.fr
  Target Milestone: ---

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
(quickly)
1. select Color Sampler Tool with my shortcut (and pick a color)
2. select Freehand Brush Tool with my shortcut ( 1-2 quick brush stokes),
4. repeat 1. 2. a lot
3. undo/redo a lot
4. repeat until it happens

OBSERVED RESULT
When using undo/redo the brush tool swap to the color sampler.

EXPECTED RESULT
Undo/redo the brushstrokes keeping the tool I'm using.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hi, I'm using 4 shortcuts for my workflow, all assigned at buttons on my
tablet:
CTRL+Z (undo) / CTRL+SHIFT+Z (redo)
B (select Freehand Brush Tool) / P (select Color Sampler Tool)

I deleted all the alternate invocations shortcuts related to the picker color
(and even every shortcuts related to CTRL in the Canvas Input Settings). I
also, changed my shortcuts and it had no effect.
Seems happening less when I using redo.

The last bug (crash) I reported is definitively fixed by disabling windows'
geolocation !
I like your soft, if you find a solution to this it would be TOTALLY usable !
And if you fix the liquify + undo crash it would be perfect :)

Cheers.

I can confirm that as well, using a Wacom PTH-651 tablet with the usual
xf86-input-wacom driver.
The issue also applies to several other elements apart from buttons, e.g.
- the search field in Discover (once out of focus (no visible cursor), you
cannot put it back into focus with a pen)
- the search dropdown or search field in the "download new Plasma mini
programs", "fetch new global designs" or any similar dowload dialogues that can
be accessed in System Settings dialogue (search pops open but cannot be
selected)
- the scroll bar in System settings --> Firewall --> Show Connections (hover
event is detected, but click/drag event is not detected)

[plasmashell] [Bug 476295] New: Add a "logout" alias to all shells by default

2023-10-29 Thread Henning
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476295

Bug ID: 476295
Summary: Add a "logout" alias to all shells by default
Classification: Plasma
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: amanita+kdeb...@mailbox.org
CC: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Logging out of the graphical shell in a KDE Wayland session is not easy. Afaik
on X11 that was easier.

On Wayland the command:

qdbus org.kde.ksmserver /KSMServer logout 0 0 1

works. If there is a better one, would be great to have available somewhere
visible.

Having that aliases to "logout" / having an executable in the Path to do that,
would help usability.
