I'm on X11. > I also noticed that in the screenshots, the mpv window seems to be > fullscreen. > Does this only happen for you on fullscreen apps? (I tried setting it full > screen but I can't seem to reproduce the issue) Somehow, I can't trigger desktop grid whenever a mpv instance is in full screen (I don't know if I have tried this before), even if I'm on a different desktop. And, I have no title bar on my window decoration. But I think that it was not on full screen, I usually don't watch with mpv in full screen. Tried Firefox and Gwenview in full screen, but I can still view the desktop grid but no occurrence of the bug. [kmail2] [Bug 403770] unified mailbox (folder) not update sometimes
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403770 Steven Robbins changed: What|Removed |Added CC||st...@sumost.ca --- Comment #7 from Steven Robbins --- Bug remains in KMail Version 5.22.3 (22.12.3). I have been using kmail for years with a local imap server. The local mailbox is fed using fetchmail to retrieve mail from my ISP’s imap server. Works a treat. Recently I decided to directly add my upstream isp imap server as a second mailbox. Now I can look at emails on the upstream server directly. And there is a “Unified Mailboxes” pseudo-server that presents an aggregated view of both imap servers. The issue is that of course fetchmail is still periodically moving messages from upstream imap to local. And the unified mailboxes gets very confused. When a message gets moved (removed from upstream imap and added to local imap), I end up with two duplicate entries in “unified mailboxes” and I can’t interact properly with them. Often I can’t delete one or both copies, for example. I end up re-starting kmail a couple times a day to clear things up. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 477262] New: Incorrect window stacking order of transient windows
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477262 Bug ID: 477262 Summary: Incorrect window stacking order of transient windows Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: git master Platform: Neon OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Keywords: regression Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: core Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: ann.of.the.green.gab...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When stacking windows kwin correctly obeys the "constraints" between windows (by means of struct Constraint in workspace.h, i.e. transients go above parents), but ignores the order in which user has stacked the windows - windows are stacked in order they were created (oldest window goes on top) in many circumstances. This has regressed somewhere between 4.20.5 (debian 11) and 4.27 (debian 12) *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Run KCalc (KCalc is just an example here) 2. Open transient windows (in this order): Help/About Calc, Help/About KDE, Settings/Configure KCalc, place them so that they all overlap each other but some part of each window is always visible. 3. Click on them for a while - observe that the only constrain is that each transient window must be above main window - there are no constraints between transients - each one can be stacked above any other. OBSERVED RESULT 4. Despite the lack of constraints between transients you cannot stack them freely - when you click on a transient it is raised as expected, but the other 2 are restacked in order they were created (unless already in that order). 5. When you click on main window - all transients are restacked in order of their creation (unless already in that order). 6. When you make main window "KeepAbove" all transients are restacked in order of creation and you cannot change that order anymore. EXPECTED RESULT 4. Clicked transient is raised, but the other transients are not restacked, they are kept in order they were stacked by the user. 5. Transients are not restacked, they are kept in order they were stacked by the user. 6. Transients are not restacked, they are kept in order they were stacked by the user, user can still restack them freely. This leads to their users being stuck with outdated versions. The solutions available to you are the following: - Try to use a Flatpak, Snap, AppImage or other distribution independent package that provides a newer version of the software you want to use. - Add a repository that provides a newer Debian package for the software you want to use. You might not have this option with Debian since extra repositories aren't as common for Debian as they are for other stable Linux distributions, AFAIK. - Install a newer version by building it from source code. I don't expect most users to do this, let alone stable Linux distribution users. For users with the latest software versions from a distro like Arch Linux it's not so hard, but stable linux distribution users would probably need to set up a whole KDE development environment because their developer package versions are too old. - Install a Linux distribution that provides newer packages. You can consider this a last resort, but it might solve a lot of problems if you eventually find yourself needing a lot of newer software versions. You can ignore the following if the info above was all you needed to read: Linux distributions that don't change much between versions are called "stable" Linux distributions. That is helpful for system administrators who need to manage hundreds or thousands of computers. It's a common misconception among Linux users who install Linux on their personal computers to think that "stable" means fewer bugs when stable distributions are usually just as buggy as any other kind. No issues using any part of KDE Plasma on Arch Linux host system (version on Arch is v5.111.0). Running Gentoo in a VirtualBox VM, at line 609 of 'plasma-framework/src/plasma/framesvg.cpp', there is a SIGSEGV that will crash the entire plasmashell. This happens as soon as plasmashell is started, rendering the entire KDE environment unusuable. This whole file seems unchanged in 5.111.0 and 5.112.0. Have rebuilt plasma-frameworks multiple times, crash occurs in same location every time. Since it's called on plasmashell start, I'm guessing the same code must be being called on Arch, and is most definitely *not* SIGSEGV'ing there. This is definitely a WTF bug. [kwin] [Bug 475325] KDE 6 wayland fractional scale blurry when result of division W/scale or H/scale is not an integer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475325 --- Comment #11 from zvova7...@gmail.com --- Well, yes, but Chrome's 1.49971 scale factor does not seem to be a 'normal' scale when the system has 1.5 While Chrome has an incorrect scale, I believe it is providing an incorrect viewporter destination size, while KWin is trying to render with the correct size applying a 1.5 scale. From that perspective, the compositor must fit the application surface to the render bounds. The OpenGL backend uses GL_LINEAR texture filtering, which causes blurriness even with rounding issues within 1px. Maybe QPainter applies another scale method. I have a patch for Chromium that fixes its internal scale, and in that case, it becomes sharp and clean. Anyway, it's just my guess. I haven't delved deeply into how it works to the point where I can confidently say I totally understand how it must work. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477221 --- Comment #1 from b...@mogwai.be --- Is this happening with the postmarketOS Kasts package, or with a manually compiled version? If it's the official package, could you report this bug with postmarketOS, please? These kinds of faults tend to happen when a library that Kasts depends on gets updated without Kasts itself getting recompiled. Then you can end up with an instruction that has changed in the underlying lib without Kasts knowing about this, leading to a crash. So, I would think it's simply a matter of recompiling the package. If that still doesn't help, then please let me know, and so we can futher debug this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475325 --- Comment #9 from Huang-Huang Bao --- (In reply to zvova7890 from comment #7) > Chromium-based apps have incomplete fractional scale support. They calculate > scale factor instead of obtaining one from the fractional-scale protocol. > See: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1474176 > > I think firefox also doing something wrong. The fractional-scale-v1 spec does not force the client to use provided scale as the event name "wp_fractional_scale_v1::preferred_scale" suggests. > Notification of a new preferred scale for this surface that the compositor > suggests that the client should use. So I would say it's a bug of the kwin's OpenGL backend to not respect client's scale (client's buffer geometry / surface geometry)..
