[krita] [Bug 477753] New: Cursor and stroke delay on transparent (empty) canvas at the end of each stroke
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477753 Bug ID: 477753 Summary: Cursor and stroke delay on transparent (empty) canvas at the end of each stroke Classification: Applications Product: krita Version: 5.2.1 Platform: Microsoft Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: * Unknown Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: dorijan.sa...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Delays and painting performance drops when painting on empty (transparent) canvas with 2 or more layers in stack. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create new document (larger, something demanding) with 2 layers and Image Background opacity set to 0% 2. Attempt to draw multiple fast strokes 3. Observe cursor/stroke delay 4. Delete one layer so only 1 layer is in stack, or add 1-100% fill underneath, or increase image bg opacity to 0,05-100% 5. Repeat from step 2. to observe normal behavior OBSERVED RESULT Delay in cursor movement and stroke rendering at the end of each stroke when drawing on an empty canvas with 2 or more empty/hidden layers in stack and Image background opacity set to 0%. Painting on a single empty layer in stack and 0% Image BG opacity will not cause issue. Setting Image BG opacity to 0,05-100% or having filled paint layer or Fill Layer underneath with at least 1% opacity will also result in normal stroke performance. EXPECTED RESULT No performance issues when drawing on an empty canvas with 2 or more layers in stack. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: Windows 10 macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: 5.15.7 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Tested on all three Canvas Graphics Acceleration options and without (CPU rendering) all with same results, so it doesn't seem to be an issue with OpenGL renderer. No difference in CPU and RAM usage between normal and abnormal performance. Important to note: Attempting to reproduce this bug on very small canvas will not show any significant performance drop and bug won't be apparent. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477752 Bug ID: 477752 Summary: No ability to assign shortcut to the touch rings on graphic tablet on wayland Classification: Applications Product: systemsettings Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: kcm_tablet Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: ra...@raghukamath.com CC: aleix...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Various graphic tablets have a touch ring on one side along with the buttons. Artists use this ring to assign keys to this ring's touch rotation, for example a key is assigned to clockwise and another for counter clockwise touch rotation. This helps is getting more natural actions in dedicated application like brush reszies in krita, zoom in zoom out in image viewer or just scrolling on firefox. Current kcm doesn't even list these rings and there is no way to assign shortcut for these. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Connect a tablet which has a touch ring in it 2. Go to tablet kcm under wayland and try to assign or change the shortcut for this. I am also attaching a screenshot of earlier tablet kcm where this ring is shown and there are entries to change shortcut for this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

It reverts back to its original, default Text property value (e.g., "Label", "Label 2", etc.). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Kexi. 2. Select "New...", "Blank Database"; "File" [storage method]; fill out name and destination directory. 3. Under Create tab, select Form. 4. In Form Design tab, select Label. 5. Click and drag to create a new label in the form design area. 6. Type in desired label text (program defaults to letting you type into the label itself, not the Properties pane). 7. Click somewhere outside of label to lock its contents into place. 8. Save the form. 9. Close form. 10. Reopen form. OBSERVED RESULT Desired label text that was typed in before saving form was not retained after saving, closing, and reopening form. Earlier on x11 the settings page used to show the drawing and button layout properly so that the user understood which button they are mapping to a shortcut. Currently all the buttons are listed as button 1 button 2 button 3 and so on. On a tablet these buttons can have odd numbering so a simple visual indication would be better for usability. This but report is also for showing a drawing or visual representation of the pen buttons. There is also an issue of the pen being names as "tool" while the pen may be called as a tool in the code it doesn;t help a normal user that much. It can be called "Pen button 1" "Pen button 2" and so on instead of "Tool button 1" "Tool button 2" etc. I attaching a screenshot of how it look under X11 STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. It seems like a very simple first year comp sci project to do. Controlled vocabularies are used by libraries and archives all over the world. I chose to use one for my photo archive for consistency and it would be great to just be able to import the vocabulary of my choosing which already has the hierarchy established rather than doing it manually. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 477710] Allow keyboard shortcuts using the Fn key as a modifier

This *is* a Mac-specific thing. On non-mac machines, the OS is not aware of fn key presses. Instead, at the hardware level, the fn key changes the scan codes of different keys, so that physical keys take on different meanings with the fn modifier. On mac this is different since the fn key press is actually sent to the OS. The deep learning neural network will analyze image contents and recognize subjects of photography in goal to tag item in the database accordingly, following a taxonomy logic. [kwin] [Bug 477480] Prevent monitors, widgets, and windows from re-arranging themselves when adding/removing a monitor.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477480 --- Comment #3 from AT --- Using wayland. > To achieve what you want, arrange the monitors in the KScreen KCM exactly how > you'd like them for each number of connected monitors. I'm not sure if I understand in relation to the issue. Is Kscreen KCM the page in System Settings > Display and Monitor > Display Configuration? If so see below. Here's an example just now, with screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/wtJP98l Before image: Two monitors plugged in, initial layout. After image: what happens after plugging in a 3rd monitor, showing re-arranged screens and the overlay prompting action (which doesn't work). One point of my request is, why does it rearrange the existing two monitors in "After"? Initially I had the 2560x1440 screen on the bottom left, and the 3840x2160 screen next to it on the right (as they are on my desk). After plugging in the next screen, it decides to re-arrange them so the 3840x2160 screen is at the far left, the 2560x1440 screen moves to the middle, and the new screen at the far right. My ideal expected result is "The layout of monitors set in display settings should be "glued together", and adding a new monitor should not unglue and move the other monitors around". It's really annoying to have to mess with this all the time. Especially for something like adding a virtual display for screen sharing in wayland (described in original post). Another point is that the overlay for extend to left/right/etc (as shown in the "After" screenshot) does nothing when I click on them. Does it even make sense for anything other than 2 monitors? I can follow up with other screenshots for the issues with widgets. > "only" (lol) three monitors Just wondering... is 3+ monitors assumed uncommon and less tested here? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
