STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. First of all, why is everything mixed up in the installed applications
section?
2. You can add classification to the installed applications section, you can
group flatpack, snap or rpm, you can also add a separate class for plug-ins and
a separate class for photos. There are 590 installed ones. I had a hard time
finding what I was looking for.
3. I hope the image explains everything, I used a translator to report the
error, sorry for the spelling mistakes.

Yes a alot more device types are supported now. Once you update to plasma 6 you
can raise a new bug in case anything is missed

I think this not a valid issue. The option for Automatically select file
extension is here so the text entered in the filename is treated as a title and
the the extension appended to it. When it is unchecked the filename is treated
as complete name with extension and is working as expected.

UX can do with some improvements but functionality is intentional.

SUMMARY
***
Some animations are not smooth with multi-monitor setup.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Two monitors (60hz and 144hz in my case). Enable them, and set to max
refresh rates
2.
   * EITHER Maximize any window, then minimize it, and maximize again
   * OR Switch desktops with slide animation
The animations will not be smooth (like they run only on 60hz).
3. Disable 60hz monitor, the animations will be smooth again

OBSERVED RESULT
Some animations (described above) are not smooth with multi-monitor setup with
different refresh rates on wayland. Even those that should happen only on one
monitor (like minimization).

EXPECTED RESULT
Animations should be smooth

I'm afraid ktorrent 22.12.3 is unfortunately no longer eligible for support or
maintenance from KDE.

ktorrent is a fast-moving project, and bugs in one version are often fixed in
the next one. Please update to ktorrent 23.08.5 as soon as your distro offers
it to you. If you need support for ktorrent 22.12.3, please contact your
distro, who bears the responsibility of providing support for older non-LTS
releases.
If this issue is still reproducible in ktorrent 23.08.5 (the latest released
version), feel free to re-open this bug report.

Thanks for understanding!

   Version: 5.27.9
  Platform: openSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor

  Target Milestone: ---

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Not applicable
2.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
When the wind speed reported on the Env. Canada website shows wind speed X
gusting to Y, the same wind speeds are properly displayed in the widget.
Later, when the reported wind speed is Z with no wind gusts, the widget shows
winds Z gusting to Y.

Note: when Env. Canada is selected for the first time, the wind speed is
properly reported. It is only after Env. Canada stops reporting any wind gusts
that this behaviour appears.

EXPECTED RESULT
The wind gust speed should be set to 0 when Env. Canada reports the wind is no
longer gusting.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 481421] Report a bug button broken

> On my system nothing happens after your steps. The same with Dolphin,

>

Sorry, that was poorly written. Here are the steps to reproduce more
accurately:

1. Open KDE Connect on Linux
2. Click Settings
3. Click About KDE Connect
3. Click Report a bug

If you still have trouble reproducing the bug, maybe its possible that I really
am lacking the authorization? (See attachment). Though the more I think about
it, I believe the button is trying to pull up a form that doesn't exist. I have
no issue navigating to this form from the iOS app. When you select the form
dropdown for component, you'll see all platfoms listed (macos, windows,
android, etc) but linux isn't there. That would make the solution the same as
this bug (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475835). Likely this needs to be
triaged to the bugs.kde.org team.

[kwin] [Bug 471136] kwin_x11 freezes xorg under certain conditions

2024-02-17 Thread Jason Straight
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=471136

I found a workaround for the momentary freezes of desktop contents. It's not
ideal, but it's more ideal than disabling compositing on kwin_x11.

I really wish I could use wayland, but I just can't not have working autotype
in my password manager for the amount of remote work I do, where copy/paste
isn't an option.

The workaround I found was to disable glamor (acceleration) in the modesetting
x11 driver with `Option "AccelMethod" "none"`.

[plasmashell] [Bug 480935] Buggy behavior with Plasma panel and mpv full screen

2024-02-17 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=480935

Another thing. I found out how to replicate the panel transparency bug.

When mpv is fullscreen on the secondary monitor, stop the video and make mpv
windowed.
You will notice that the panel becomes transparent.
If, always keeping the video stopped, you go back and forth between fullscreen
and windowed, you'll notice that the transparency of the panel keeps changing
with that.

I can make another video showing it, if necessary.

[plasmashell] [Bug 480935] Buggy behavior with Plasma panel and mpv full screen

2024-02-17 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=480935

> I *can* reproduce the bug if the video is playing full screen on either of
> the other displays (laptop or monitor).
>
> Observed the clock to see if it changed size - yes
> Observed the color picker widget to see if it changed transparency - yes
> The symptoms are identical to the original report.

Yeah sorry, I forgot to mention that I'm using a dual monitor setup, so the bug
happens when mpv is open fullscreen on the secondary monitor and the panel is
on primary monitor. It is exatcly as you wrote, I confirm.

BUT I noticed another thing today, and I think it could be related (not 100%
sure tho).
When mpv is fullscreen on the secondary monitor and the bug happens, another
thing that happen is that the window shadows disappear from primary monitor.
My compositor is set to "Allow applications to block compositing" so I assume
that mpv is blocking it.
Now I think that this is intended, so it might be normal for the shadows to
disappear *only* when mpv is fullscreen (is it?), but I just noticed that when
I close mpv and the shadows come back, that's the moment when something goes
weird, the font come back to normal, the transparency of the color picker come
back to opaque and sometimes the whole panel turns to transparent instead of
opaque.

So I think that it could be the compositor turning on and off that triggers the
bug, and not mpv itself.
I'm not sure tho, I'm just making assumptions here, trying to link the
behaviors I'm observing. To be honest I'm not entirely understanding why mpv
should need to block the compositor when in fullscreen, but not in windowed
mode, so I don't know. I just hope this can be useful.

[Heaptrack] [Bug 481485] New: [Feature request] Add support for rust demangling (using rustc-demangle C library probably)

2024-02-17 Thread Vorpal
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481485

Bug ID: 481485
Summary: [Feature request] Add support for rust demangling
(using rustc-demangle C library probably)
Classification: Applications
   Product: Heaptrack
   Version: 1.5.0
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: m...@milianw.de
  Reporter: kdeb...@vorpal.se
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Hi I couldn't find a separate location to file feature requests so I hope this
it the right location. Currently when looking at Rust binaries I get some
partially demangled names. Presumably it is close enough to C++ to get some
demangling. Unfortunately that is probably the worst option, as I can't just
copy paste the half-demangled name into a proper rust demangler (like
https://github.com/luser/rustfilt).

I would thus appreciate if you either didn't demangle rust symbols at all, or
used https://github.com/rust-lang/rustc-demangle#usage-from-non-rust-languages
to do it fully. I know that hotspot by KDAB (which seems very closely related
to this GUI-wise) already has support for rust demangling, so maybe it wouldn't
be too difficult to add here as well.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Profile a rust binary
2. Open in heaptrack_gui
3. Be met with confusing partially demangled names

OBSERVED RESULT
Partially demangled names

EXPECTED RESULT
Preferably fully demangled (otherwise not demangled at all)

Ok, the AppImage now works here with openSUSE, which is probably clear because
of the file from openSUSE. I looked for which entry in the file was causing the
problem for me, this entry is it:

Loop:

...

-

openSUSE:

...

You can see that there is no "application/javascript" entry, it is defined as
"text" and the aliases are set accordingly.

SUMMARY

Gwenview always prevents my screen from locking and my laptop from going to
sleep, with no way to change this.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open any image (e.g. a simple PNG) in Gwenview

OBSERVED RESULT

After a few seconds, when clicking on the "Power and Battery" applet in the
taskbar, I see the text "Gwenview is currently blocking sleep and screen
locking (Viewing media)". This appears to be correct - the screen does not
lock.

EXPECTED RESULT

I expect Gwenview to block sleep only in a few instances, e.g. when viewing a
fullscreen slideshow or when viewing a video with sound. I looked for options
to disable this feature in the Gwenview settings, but didn't find anything.

I had an opml file with 120 podcasts in it and one of the feeds had an expired

podcast in the list of 120 and only the first 2 podcasts in the file were
imported. @mogwai recommended I log this, for developers to consider a
different behaviour, in which the invalid feeds are ignored and the rest of the
import would succeed.

Test scan, first complete scan area, second DIN A4

Hello, first of all I would like to thank you for this beautiful software.
Until now I have been using Xsane because programmes like Skanlite lack
important features like multi-page scanning.
When scanning, however, I noticed that a margin is cut off within the selected
scan area.
With A4, for example, part of the sheet is missing, even though the whole sheet
is in the frame in the preview. This is particularly noticeable at the top and
left edge, as the frame cannot be enlarged there. I have attached a scan of the
complete area and with the selection for DIN A4 for comparison.

Setup Information:
I use Skanpage as Flatpak from Flathub and my scanner is Hp Envy Photo 7800
Operating System: openSUSE Leap 15.5
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.9
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.103.0
Qt Version: 5.15.8
Kernel Version: 5.14.21-150500.55.49-default (64-bit)

I don't know if I should just attach this here, if this is the wrong place
please correct it and let me know where to post it instead.
As I often work with different scan area sizes, I would like to ask if it is
possible to add a function that allows you to save user-defined scan areas and,
ideally, edit the existing ones if they don't quite suit you.

A possible related issue with this bug: If after step 2 you activate "Freeze
Keyframe Data" and try to duplicate any scene except the last one, Krita will
crash.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a document in Krita with the storyboard docker enabled
2. Create two or more scenes with art in them in the storyboard docker
3. Activate "Freeze Keyframe Data"
4. Right-click any scene except the last one and "Duplicate Scene"

That tells me the problem may be related to a conflict between the storyboard
docker and the animation timeline docker keyframe system but it's just a wild
guess.

I'm using version 5.2.2

Remind me why it is again that KDE's systemsettings KCM can't set something
that only affects KDE apps and give the user the option to configure the known
corresponding setting for non-Qt/KDE applications? KDE4 had something of the
sort for the GTk(2) colour profile.

I can see how that would appear impossible if both glib and ICU locales are set
from the same environmental variable but every Qt-based application running
under `KDE_FULL_SESSION=true` will normally load the platform theme plugin.
Would it be too late to change the value of the corresponding env. variable(s)
from there and get the intended behaviour?

[digikam] [Bug 480134] Freeze (loop ?) when right click on an image

2024-02-17 Thread Maik Qualmann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=480134

It's definitely the freedesktop.org.xml, the DIFF to my system from openSUSE is
no longer as big as before, but still significant. I can change my
freedesktop.org.xml (remove types), the loop doesn't occur.
Gilles, I'll send you my freedesktop.org.xml as a ZIP to integrate and test.

Maik

2024-02-17 Thread Iyán Méndez Veiga
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481456

--- Comment #8 from Iyán Méndez Veiga ---
Then perhaps is a "weird" combo of scaling plus not so common resolution
(1920x1200). I hope someone else can replicate this. I just tested on a new
user and I can replicate there too.

Yes, I use display scale 100%. Tested 125% right now, and the fullscreen mode
works as expected on my system.
