[lokalize] [Bug 483402] New: "Approve and go next" keyboard shortcut doesn't jump to next entry in list when list is filtered by search terms

2024-03-12 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483402

Bug ID: 483402
Summary: "Approve and go next" keyboard shortcut doesn't jump
to next entry in list when list is filtered by search
terms
Classification: Applications
   Product: lokalize
   Version: 24.02.0
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: editor
  Assignee: sdepi...@gmail.com
  Reporter: fi...@tutanota.com
CC: aa...@kde.org, sha...@ukr.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
"Approve and go next" keyboard shortcut moves to the next translation entry by
next (number) in file, not next in filtered list, when filtering results in
"Translation Units" and editing those entries.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open .xlf file with translations to edit
2. Search for a string in "Translation Units" search bar at the top. This will
reduce the number of translations shown in the "Translation Units" list.
3. With the mouse, click on an entry to edit
4. Use keyboard shortcut to "Approve and go next"

OBSERVED RESULT
The next translation pair selected is the next by "Entry" number listed in the
UNFILTERED list, rather than the next in the filtered list. If the initial
translation pair had an "Entry" number of 40, the next pair selected after
pressing "Approve and go next" keyboard shortcut would be 41 regardless of
whether that entry is in the filtered list.

EXPECTED RESULT
The next translation pair selected by pressing "Approve and go next" keyboard
shortcut should be the next in the filtered list.

Classification: Plasma
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 6.0.1
  Platform: Android
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

  Reporter: el...@seznam.cz
CC: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
***
I have laptop with 4k display, which I use with 200% scaling. Then I have
secondary monitor, which is FHD and I run in with 100% scaling. 4K display is
the default one.

When I run Java applications DBeaver 24.0.0 or PHPStorm 2023.3.5 following
happens:

- If I have only 4K display connected, applications correctly start with 200%
scaling.
- If I have both displays connected, applications start on 4K display, but with
100% scaling and therefore very small.

PHPStorm runs as xclient, DBeaver seems to run as native Wayland client
(doesn't show in xlsclients).
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Plug in 2 screens with different scaling.
2. Set the one with higher scaling as default.
3. Start Java application.

OBSERVED RESULT
Application started with scaling 100%.

EXPECTED RESULT
Application should start with scaling of default screen (200%).

[KOpeningHours] [Bug 483400] New: Specify which version of extra-cmake-modules provides the required ECMQmlModule

2024-03-12 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483400

Bug ID: 483400
Summary: Specify which version of extra-cmake-modules provides
the required ECMQmlModule
Classification: Applications
   Product: KOpeningHours
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: vkra...@kde.org
  Reporter: kidha...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I'm running a Docker container built from a Python:3.11-bullseye image, which
uses Debian Bullseye packages. I tried to install KOpeningHours, but I got an
error saying that ECMQmlModule wasn't found. This module comes from
extra-cmake-modules (ECM), and the most recent version of ECM that Bullseye has
is 5.78.0-3. Line 14 of CMakeLists.txt [1] in KOpeningHours seems to specify
ECM version 5.44 as the minimum version, so I expected version 5.78.0-3 to
work.
However, ECMQmlModule was added in version 5.91.0 [2], so should the requested
version of 5.44 be raised to 5.91?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install a version earlier than 5.91.0 of extra-cmake-modules. I'll choose
5.78.0, which is the version found in Debian Bullseye. The following line
installs ECM from source:
> git clone https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/extra-cmake-modules.git && cd
> extra-cmake-modules && git checkout v5.78.0 && cmake -S . && make install
2. Install KOpeningHours. In my case the location of the ECM library is in
/usr/local/share/, so I added that to CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH. I'll use the most
recent commit to KOpeningHours as of this bug report.
> CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH=/usr/local/share/ pip install
> git+https://invent.kde.org/libraries/kopeninghours.git@bf9fa422da84a9dbb55c0431955672a0bcda1ff4

OBSERVED RESULT
KOpeningHours is not installed. The following error can be seen in the output:

CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:33 (include):
include could not find requested file:
ECMQmlModule

EXPECTED RESULT
KOpeningHours doesn't install, but the error instead mentions that the version
of ECM is not compatible. Something like the following, which is shown when
trying to install KOpeningHours using version of ECM lower than 5.44, like with
5.43.0:

CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:14 (find_package):
Could not find a configuration file for package "ECM" that is compatible
 with requested version "5.44".
The following configuration files were considered but not accepted:
   /usr/local/share/ECM/cmake/ECMConfig.cmake, version: 5.43.0

An alternative could be an error mentioning which versions of ECM contain
ECMQmlModule in order to successfully install KOpeningHours.

Classification: Frameworks and Libraries
   Product: frameworks-kio
   Version: 6.0.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

 Component: Properties dialog
  Assignee: kio-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: gerbils...@gerbilsoft.com

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I encountered an odd issue on Dolphin since upgrading to KF6 (Frameworks 6.0.0,
Dolphin 24.02.0). If the Dolphin window is maximized, the properties dialog for
a folder (but NOT a file) is maximized by default.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a Dolphin window and maximize it.
2. Right-click a folder, click Properties.

OBSERVED RESULT
The Properties dialog is maximized.

EXPECTED RESULT
The Properties dialog should not be maximized.

Interestingly, if a file is selected instead of a folder, the Properties dialog
is *not* maximized.

SUMMARY

This prevents, for example, selecting the full screen using a rectangular

screenshot of the screen recording showing the issue

SUMMARY

This is reproducible using screen recording apps like Kooha, and also with
simple scripts that may help narrow down the issue, like this one:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/-/snippets/19

Tested on 6.0.1 because of Arch version, but 6.0.2 (latest release) doesn't
have anything in the changelog that seems relevant.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open e.g. Kooha, and select to record the full screen. The portal "Screen
Sharing" window will appear.
2. Select the checkbox on "Laptop screen" (or something else appropriate to
recording whole screen in your case).
3. Uncheck "Allow restoring on future sessions" - I haven't checked if this
makes a difference.
4. Click share and record a few seconds of video, then stop.

OBSERVED RESULT

Garbage output, see screenshot. Repeating the reproduction steps but choosing a
rectangular region works fine.

EXPECTED RESULT

New crash information added by DrKonqi

plasma-discover (5.27.7) using Qt 5.15.10

After clicking on the 'Discover' icon, the progam opened and began to
synchronise. But within about 5 second of opening, the program crashed. Then,
without any additional effort from myself, 'Discover' crashed repeatedly.
(About 2 times.)

There is no setting for adaptive sync in my settings, nor can I find
documentation on where that would be. I'm using an X11 session, not wayland.

I did disable "Allow applications to block compositing", but am open to other
options.

The specific follow-ups could be

- For Enter key should open the app:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483142 "[wayland] Pressing Enter on
Application Dashboard Takes Newline Instead of Opening First Application in
List"
- For arrow keys should change selection:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477348 "Application Dashboard: Can't
select items via keyboard after searching"

The former was closed as a duplicate of this, but it has the specific expected
result that Enter should launch the first search result. Ok to re-open that
one?

[plasmashell] [Bug 483395] Task Manager window preview shows offset data when directory / folder name is long

Mouseover Dolphin and another program in the Task Manager, showing program
previews with offset data sometimes.

The offset issue seems to carry over to the program preview of other programs
in the Task Manager as well as affecting the Dolphin preview itself, where
Dolphin was previewed directly before viewing the other program preview,
provided the Dolphin preview was initially offset.

[plasmashell] [Bug 483395] New: Task Manager window preview shows offset data when directory / folder name is long

2024-03-12 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483395

Bug ID: 483395
Summary: Task Manager window preview shows offset data when
directory / folder name is long
Classification: Plasma
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 6.0.1
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
Component: Task Manager and Icons-Only Task Manager
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: fi...@tutanota.com
CC: qydwhotm...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Dolphin, open a directory with a name long enough to need an ellipsis
at the end ("verylongname verylongname verylongname " is long enough, longer is
more obvious though).
2. Mouseover the Dolphin program in the Task Manager and then don't move the
mouse.

OBSERVED RESULT
The Task Manager window preview shows, but the text (program title and
directory name), close button, and preview image are all offset. The text and
close button are offset to the right, the preview is offset to the right and
down. Once the preview shows, moving the mouse will refresh / update the
preview window and it displays correctly.

EXPECTED RESULT
Task Manager window preview looks regular.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0
Qt Version: 6.6.2
Kernel Version: 6.7.9-arch1-1 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I've seen flickering in the Task Manager window previews of other programs
sometimes, perhaps because it seems to load initially, and then update when the
mouse moves even if it shows the same data. So perhaps all Task Manager window
previews might be susceptible to this issue, and I've only noticed it with
Dolphin. Seems that the preview shouldn't change once loaded (and load
correctly the first time around)?

That's good. But excuse me, I'm not a technical user: what does it mean it's
fixed in git? I hear there's a KDE 6.0.1 out already with some fixes, but on
Neon, the distro I use, it's not yet available, for example. Can we know when
the fixes will be released on any given distro?

[plasmashell] [Bug 483393] New: Systray icons are kind of blurry in Plasma 6 with 1.5 scale factor

2024-03-12 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483393

Bug ID: 483393
Summary: Systray icons are kind of blurry in Plasma 6 with 1.5
scale factor
Classification: Plasma
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 6.0.1
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: System Tray
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: zvova7...@gmail.com
CC: mate...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
Plasma 5 had crystal clear icons in the system tray in an X11 session using 1.5
scale factor. Now it is blurred in both X11 and Wayland sessions. With a 2x
scale, it looks way better, and it feels like it is not upscaled/downscaled.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use Plasma 6
2. Use 1.5 scale factor
3. Look at the systray icons

OBSERVED RESULT
Blurred icons in systray.

EXPECTED RESULT
Crystal clear icons in systray.

To add further context to this. I was changing two settings, screen layout and
refresh rate.

I tried just today changing the screen layout on it's own and it works fine, no
freeze/crash.

So the refresh rate change is what causes it.

This is strange, when I'm in the Overview pressing [Meta+Ctrl+left/right] moves
your window selection to the next window, same as using the arrow keys by
themselves. The "Switch One Desktop" shortcuts *do* work when I'm not in the
Overview, though.

Unfortunately this is not a feature that we will implement. This is rather
niche and adding this would increase the complexity of the UI too much as the

Ok, instead of the above commands, try:

bind -m emacs-meta '"@": self-insert'
bind -m emacs-meta '"#": self-insert'

Can you try launching konsole with -platform windows:altgr? As per
https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-69317 and
https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-83032 this should allow to detect AltGr
as different from Ctrl+Alt.

2024-03-12 Thread Giacomo Lozito

(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1)
> Does it happen on Wayland too, or only X11?

It only occurs with X11 for me. Tested this evening with Wayland and Breeze
plasma style, did not manage to reproduce; when activating the screen locker in
wayland, the screen consistently behaves by going blank for a half second
first, and then displaying the lock screen correctly.

HI

The button should execute your browser via the default URL handler application
-> Correct, since I upgraded, nothing happens. It happens in two computers (pc
and portatil) -> Opensuse 15.5 + plasma 6

I tried with "akonadi start --verbose", but it doesn't show anything

Thanks for answering.

Maybe you can get something from Igor Poboiko's "baloo-checkdb.py" script, it
would tell you at least if the index was corrupted. There's a pointer here:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=465529#c1
although I'm not sure what you'd need to do to install on tumbleweed.

Use KIO::rmdir for unlinking directories

Unlike KIO::del, this fails if the directory is not empty.
