The Flatpak tends to take in accounts from Akonadi already in the Debian installation instead of being a completely isolated instance separate from Debian. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have Kontact installed from apt on Debian with accounts already set up 2. Install Kontact as a Flatpak 3. Flatpak version recognizes the accounts from the Debian/Apt version and somehow interacts with the Debian Akonadi database 4. Sync, but unsuccessfully. All account info (even from accounts freshly created in the flatpak version) does not sync in the flatpak version and no data populates. OBSERVED RESULT Flatpak version of the app is devoid of data for all recognized accounts. All changes and syncing is visible on the Debian version. The Flatpak version is functionally useless when the Debian database exists. EXPECTED RESULT The Flatpak should be completely independent of the Debian installation. When installed for the first time, the Flatpak should have no accounts set up and when an account is set up, it should populate accordingly. Typically, software separates cache-like data from user data, as one should be backed up while the other should not. Because DigiKam stores both in the same path, any backup or sync software you point there will spent the vast majority of its time backing up thumbs. This issue can't be solved via symlink, since just as DigiKam will follow the symlink to the intended "cache" folder...so too does backup software. The issue was the im-config package; if i install the fcitx5 package and then remove im-config, i can login and everything looks and works perfectly, even with plasma 6. I'm pretty clueless at doing this kinds of working out what the problem is beyond that. I was trying out this feature, and noticed that some test data I was playing around with was lost. Took a look and saw the behavior Tiernan described- the files do get successfully stashed on the filesystem, and they get loaded when the session is restored. But, if for any reason, Kate exits in an unexpected manner (eg. killall -9 kate), you lose all that data. It'd be nice to have a reliable-enough store of these sorts of "scratch notes" without having to think about concretely defining where they should live in a file hierarchy. Was using Notepad++ for this previously on Windows, and am now looking for a Linux replacement for it. I get that you should save data that you care about. SUMMARY
discover 6.0.4 fails to launch on Neon Testing
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Previous weekend (April 7) I updated my Neon Testing with Discover updates
2. Today April 12 I wanted to update again by clicking on the updates in
systray but Discover didn't appear.
3. Running plasma-discover in konsole also fails
I then ran "pkcon refresh" and "pkcon -v update" and rebooted. Still discover
fails to launch.

If this isn't a bug, i think the fact that the recommended cjk ime for plasma no longer works in plasma should be some kind of an issue. If i want to type in chinese, what should i use?
