Please try the pre-release digiKam-8.4.0 version to see if the problem can be
reproduced.

I noticed the Version field is 5.90.0 for this bug, but it is affecting all 6.x
versions (currently I'm on 6.0.3.1 for example).
It never happened for 5.x versions (not considering 5.90.x versions), basically
this problem started only after updating to 6.x.

To avoid having this bug fix postponed due to triage criteria (based on Version
field), is it possible please to adjust the Version field accordingly?

Thank you.

Sorry for the delay, and the answer is yes to all, it happens when I lock
screen via META + L, I disabled the screen lock in all the accounts and, when
the monitor goes power save, it happens again.

2024-04-16 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485659

Bug ID: 485659
   Summary: (Global) Shortcuts do not persist across sessions;
unwanted shortcuts from old applications do
Classification: Applications
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 6.0.3
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_keys
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org

Created attachment 168602
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=168602=edit
screenshot of nuisance shortcuts

SUMMARY
After a recent upgrade to Plasma 6, a number of Shortcuts in the
Keyboard->Shortcuts menu from old WINE applications appear, and my
user-configured shortcuts no longer persist after reboots. I cannot remove the
unwanted WINE shortcuts, even after aggressive scrubbing of various leftover
WINE files. Pressing the "remove"/trash button within the UI itself appears to
precipitate the removal of user-configured shortcuts.

I believe https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477188 may be related, although
it should long have been fixed in this version (and still doesn't mention the
issue of disappearing user shortcuts.)

I also posted on the KDE Discuss forums with no replies:
https://discuss.kde.org/t/keyboard-shortcuts-not-persistent-over-reboots-polluted-with-old-applications/13139

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
I was unable to reproduce the issue on my laptop, which has a nearly identical
configuration of software, but a far shorter heritage of collected ~/.config
and ~/.local cruft. Rebooting and/or logging out, especially after attempting
to remove shortcuts with the "X" button, appears to cause some or all of my
user-configured shortcuts to be removed and reset (for example, Ctrl+Alt+T to
open Konsole). The shortcuts persist just fine during a session.

I believe the issue is related to a corrupt, incorrect, or invalid
configuration file, likely due to a botched migration from Plasma 5 to Plasma 6
due to the shortcuts overhaul. I attempted to dig through the source and
identify any relevant configuration files, but (after deleting a few and
digging through others) can't find where these shortcuts are coming from.

OBSERVED RESULT
A number of nuisance WINE shortcuts appear, and while they can be removed with
the "Trash" button, they re-appear with every new session.

User-created global shortcuts occasionally disappear across reboots/sessions.
Not all of them disappear at once; for example, my Konsole config was wiped,
but my Spectacle configuration was retained. This may be related to attempts to
trash the shortcuts themselves.

EXPECTED RESULT
Ideally, the nuisance links to nonexistence WINE shortcuts should be cleaned up
/not displayed, or at least the delete button should work. User configured
global shortcuts should persist after a reboot.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=484460

Sorry to hear that, my apologies for not being very clear in my last message. I
was able to reproduce the issue until the new version released with the bugfix
for the issue I eventually marked this as a duplicate of. Since it had been a
week since my first comment, and two weeks since the most recent comment before
that, and my own inexperience doing bug triage, where someone with more
experience probably would have been marked as a duplicate before the other bug
was patched. I marked it as a duplicate once I couldn't reproduce it after the
probable duplicate bug was fixed and I could no longer reproduce this. If you
are still having the issue, please don't hesitate to reopen this issue. I hope
you can give gwenview another chance. And if anything, blame me, a newbie
volunteer, not the project as a whole.

I am running KDE with kwin 6.1 on Arch and am experiencing this exact problem.
I originally thought it was an issue with Godot, but Konsole and Firefox have
exhibited the same behavior.

Example Video: https://youtu.be/Xr5cmBRonls

Honestly have no idea how I could help debug this as it is super strange, but
am happy to help however I can.

   Version: 8.3.0
  Platform: Microsoft Windows

When trying to Edit the Geolocation of a photograph the system seems to go into
an infinite loop. Just hangs, some photos its fine then others it hangs.
Happens in about half the photos.

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to Edit Geolocation and that's fine.
2. Go to paste in coordinates or use the Search panel on the right side and
the system freezes. Never comes back and often have to reboot the system.
Sometimes it works just fine. Can never tell.

Run my Database on the D: Drive on SSD and my Photos are on a Synology NAS

Most the time this system works fine it is GeoLocation that gives the issues.

I am facing the same issue with the beta of Kubuntu 24.04 with all the
available updates, KDE 23.08.5, Wayland and the proprietary NVIDIA driver,
545.29.06 and then 550.67 (both versions showing the same issue).

Is the NVIDIA bug related to this issue
https://github.com/NVIDIA/open-gpu-kernel-modules/issues/622?
I don't see the error message "Atomic commit failed" in my logs but this was
mentioned by the OP.

   Product: ktorrent
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: joris.guis...@gmail.com
  Reporter: fi...@tutanota.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When a tracker's website certificate expires, or when it is offline /
unreachable, an error message will be shown. This message periodically
reappears, and each message stays open until it is manually closed, leading to
many messages covering the screen if KTorrent is left running for a length of
time unattended.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set up a torrent in KTorrent with a tracker whose website certificate has
expired or which is not accessible.
2. Wait a while.

OBSERVED RESULT
First one, then more popups will appear notifying you that the tracker has an
issue (there is a button for more info).

EXPECTED RESULT
KTorrent should show a single popup for any tracker with an issue, which
includes a button to disable the tracker, so that the user does not have to
scroll through the torrents and their trackers looking for the problematic
tracker by name alone.

[plasmashell] [Bug 485648] New: Floating panel offsets newly placed windows just before unfloating

2024-04-16 Thread Natalie Clarius
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485648

Bug ID: 485648
Summary: Floating panel offsets newly placed windows just
before unfloating
Classification: Plasma
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Panel
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: natalie_clar...@yahoo.de
CC: niccolo.venera...@gmail.com, notm...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
A floating panel doesn't unfloat before a newly placed window touches it, which
creates an unnecessary offset for the window position once the panel then
unfloats.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set panel to top positioned and floating
2. Set window placement to top-left corner
3. Have no visible windows currently touching the panel so it is floating
4. Open a new window

OBSERVED RESULT
New window gets placed with a margin to the floating panel, then the panel
unfloats to get out of the way of the now touching window, now there is a gap
between the window and the panel

EXPECTED RESULT
New window touches the unfloated panel

I've just had this happen after monitor standby on my desktop. It doesn't seem
as simple as Plasma just misplacing things, as
- opening kickoff with Meta still works, and it's placed in the correct spot
- notifications still pop up, but in the top left corner, instead of the top
right where I configured them to be

There's no panel and no desktop window, not even misplaced, and WAYLAND_DEBUG
output of plasmashell when triggering this seems fine; it has a weird amount of
output changes, especially output description changes for some reason, but the
values are all okay.
Given that, it's definitely a bug in plasmashell. My best guess would be that
it gets confused about the tons of output changes happening in a short time.

We're gonna need some debug information, ideally from both KWin and the driver

log out, switch to a tty, connect the monitor again and then run the script
from https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/wikis/Debugging-DRM-issues
Afterwards, just attach kwin-drm-debug.log and dmesg-drm-debug.log here

in m4b files, there is a single entry called chapters, editing this shows
all chapters with their timestamps
in mp3 files, each chapter is shown as a separate entry on the properties
list and you have to edit each one separately to see the chapter text and
timing also shown are two offset values that appear to be set to all F's
and have no purpose??

it looks like chapter editing in m4b files is significantly easier than mp3

but my test shows i can edit manually created chapters what confused me is
the same process is done two different ways even though the process for m4b
and mp3 files is essentially the same but in the app it uses different
dialogues
doing more testing on files i convert from m4b files

Add support for ruff formatter

Ruff is now supported in the code format plugin and is the default
formatter for python.

A new json config key, "formatterForPython" is introduced which can be
used to switch to autopep8 (the only other python formatter that is
supported atm)

Apologies first time I’ve uploaded a bug trace not sure what is most helpful to
close this out and I’ll resubmit. If I read correctly on Arch I just needed to
check the “ Enable debuginfod for this session? (y or [n]) [answered N; input
not from terminal]
Debuginfod has been disabled.” I.e looks to be built in. I know now for next
time I’ll try for a fresh dump soon but only if it is helpful.

I tried to check this with htop in TTY and could not detect Plasma processes.
But this method does not seem reliable if I am not fast enough.

No rooms appeared, when I would click on a space.

I deleted the config, and got it working again.

I am sorry, I just realized, I should have kept the old file, I guess.

Make QtWebView optional, overhaul auth (again)

Our current authentication system uses an in-app QtWebView. However,
WebView isn't available on all systems and arguably this only makes
sense for mobile.

So now this is how the authorization should've worked before:

* On desktop systems, the external browser method is preferred. Unless
you're running on a debug build, and Tokodon will choose the auth code
method for you. This is to prevent gotchas when you forgot to install
the .desktop file and other gubbins required for that feature to work.
* On mobile systems, the in-app web browser is preferred if QtWebView
is available.
* On other systems who don't want QtWebView, they can turn it off via
USE_QTWEBVIEW and Tokodon will fall back automatically.

Add a new menu item to copy the current column's text

It wasn't possible before to copy the column text, which is especially
useful for the PID and Command columns. This adds a new context menu
item to do this.
