Hi Guys,

I figured out the problem. After the kde neon update, it seems some issues in
the "Breeze Light" theme are causing the problems i was reporting. I switched
my theme by chance and everything is working

[krita] [Bug 375915] New: Color adjustment in 32bit mode should not clip above visible brightness

2017-02-02 Thread Alex
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375915

Bug ID: 375915
Summary: Color adjustment in 32bit mode should not clip above
visible brightness
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.1.2
  Platform: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: adjustment layers
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: ene...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

When opening 32bit file it would be nice, that color adjustment (curves) could
adjust levels above visible range. Currently they just clip, so it's not
possible to lower brightness moving top-right control point down without
loosing highlights. It's like that color adjustment isn't working in full 32bit
dynamic range.

Currently if group is set to invisible Krita still processes layers inside that
group when objects below are modified.
If group is invisible processing filters inside groups with pass through could
be disabled to improve performance.

It is feature from PS:
When using levels there is possibility to invert sliders, move left controller
to right and vice versa, both for input and output. It would be nice to have it
in Krita. It would also eliminate need for "invert" filter.

It seems it's impossible to set threshold to 0, that there is always some
threshold turned on. I've compared it with PS unsharp mask and it's similar to
about 10 (of 255). Please check on attached file, it contains nice noise that
shows problem.

Currently levels filter mask middle slider (grey) can be set from 10 to 0.1.
Maybe it is possible to change that limit from 0.1 to 0.001. Such extreme
setting can be useful when working with 32bit images.

Picture to illustrate the responsive parts of the screen.

Hi.

I've the same issue here (ArchLinux with kde-applications-meta 16.12-1,
plasma-mata 5.9-1).

My system is running in a VM and now there is only a part of the screen
unresponsive to the mouse - when i resize my VM-window then the new parts are
responsive.

For example: when the issue occured i had a resolution of 800x600, when i
increase my resolution to FullHD the new parts are responsive - leaving only
the initial 800x600 (red) area dead.

Maybe this information helps to track down the issue!?

There is problem with transform masks and it seems to be only on windows. On
linux masks are slow but work. On windows Krita seems stalling/hanging after
resizing.
Please try to open attached file and try to transform already scaled down
layer. Here I get hang after second try to transform.
On linux I've got 3.1.1 and 3.1.2 on windows.

[krita] [Bug 376950] Krita doesn't read alpha channel from tiff files

2017-02-26 Thread Alex
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=376950

Could be. I reported this because PS reads transparency from that file and
Krita doesn't... Also in PS you can save file without alpha channel and turn
off transparency and transparency will be still there (and no alpha ofcourse).
Maybe PS is saving transparency "elsewhere" when transparency option is off.
To discard transparency from that file I had to save without layers.

[krita] [Bug 377051] Adding filter layer sometimes hangs Krita

2017-03-01 Thread Alex
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377051

Sure.
PC: i7 4770K, 16GB, HD7750
Platform: Windows 10
Krita: 3.1.2
Filter: any type, hanging happens after clicking "add filter mask" or "add
filter layer". Problem is that it doesn't happen always, but usually after some
time. When I open Krita everything works fine and it *sometimes* happen after a
while.
I usually have lots of free RAM.
I can send you sample projects I'm working on, but unfortunately can't show to
the public.

[krita] [Bug 372551] New: Wacom ExpressKeys leave input manager in messed up state

2016-11-16 Thread Alex
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=372551

Bug ID: 372551
Summary: Wacom ExpressKeys leave input manager in messed up
state
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.1 Beta
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: tablet support
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: irat...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I am using an Intuos Pro tablet on macOS Sierra 10.12.1.
I configured two ExpressKeys on my tablet:
Key #1: Presses shift key (for blending)
Key #2: Presses "cmd + z" (for undo)

Pressing Key #1 shows up like this in the tabletlog:
krita.tabletlog: "[ ] ShortcutOverride key: 0x120 mod: 0x200
text: none"
krita.tabletlog: "[ ] ShortcutOverride key: 0x124 mod: 0x200
text: none"
krita.tabletlog: "[ ] KeyRelease key: 0x124 mod: 0x200
text: none"
krita.tabletlog: "[ ] ShortcutOverride key: 0x124 mod: 0x0 text:
none"
krita.tabletlog: "[ ] KeyRelease key: 0x120 mod: 0x0 text:
none"
krita.tabletlog: "[ ] KeyRelease key: 0x124 mod: 0x0 text:
none"

For some reason, there is the 0x124 key, which seems to be also sent by my
tablet for no apparent reason.

Pressing Key #2 shows up like this:
krita.tabletlog: "[ ] ShortcutOverride key: 0x121 mod: 0x400
text: none"
krita.tabletlog: "[ ] ShortcutOverride key: 0x124 mod: 0x400
text: none"
krita.tabletlog: "[ ] ShortcutOverride key: 0x5a mod: 0x400 text:
none"
krita.tabletlog: "[ ] KeyRelease key: 0x124 mod: 0x400
text: none"
krita.tabletlog: "[ ] ShortcutOverride key: 0x124 mod: 0x0 text:
none"
krita.tabletlog: "[ ] KeyRelease key: 0x121 mod: 0x0 text:
none"
krita.tabletlog: "[ ] KeyRelease key: 0x124 mod: 0x0 text:
none"

When I am only using Key #1, everything is fine. But as soon as I press Key #2,
it performs the undo, but from this point on only Key #2 will respond
correctly. Pressing Key #1 shows no action. However it starts working again as
soon as I either refocus the window or press a random key (no modifiers) on my
keyboard. Apparently, Key #2 leaves the input manager in a messed up state.

It would be nice to have option to disable showing open app name and leave only
icon highlight. It can be useful when pinning apps so other icons are not moved
so placement is kept. It would be similar to vertical panel orientation - names
there are hidden and panel behaves like dock.

In the meantime I've checked both managers settings and it seems they are not
consistent. It seems icon-only manager has fixed type settings to manual
sorting and group always. Maybe it's worth to sync settings between two, or, if
possible using Occam's razor rule, combine both into one manager with first
option inside "Behavior" group:
"Show application name"

Yep, I'm aware of this. But I'm also aware that when more sophisticated
selection is involved inside app it's most probably pretty hard to workaround
this.
Next one: GIMP: alt+click show layer mask
This list is short, but can show that if you want to do some creative things
you will probably have to change that shortcut inside system settings.

Of course, that's true. I just wanted to show reason why they did this (some
apps, mostly graphic), nothing more.
I hope you get my point. As a graphic designer I'm completely unaware of
ability to block shortcuts or set something inside system settings because my
app isn't working.
Last app:
https://docs.krita.org/Polygonal_Selection_Tool

If you take a glimpse @ google you will find, that most questions how to
disable alt+click and some how to enable it back:
https://www.google.pl/search?num=100=off=firefox-b=super%2Bclick+alt%2Bclick+move+window=super%2Bclick+alt%2Bclick+move+window

Anyway thank you for your point.

[dolphin] [Bug 371383] Tip:Add Bulk rename function

2017-03-16 Thread Alex
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371383

[N] and [E] are two tags, for name and extension, so current ones can be passed
to new name so from bar.ext expression foo[N]new[E] will give foobarnew.ext
Double Commander adds also letter case change option (under "No change"
button).

[plasmashell] [Bug 377722] New: [suggestion] use meta instead of alt by default in window behaviour shortcuts

2017-03-17 Thread Alex
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377722

Bug ID: 377722
Summary: [suggestion] use meta instead of alt by default in
window behaviour shortcuts
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.9.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: ene...@gmail.com
CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

By default alt + mouse is used for window specific shortcuts (moving, resizing).
But alt + mouse is used by 3D apps like blender, freecad or maya (not necessary
default) to navigate viewport. My proposal is to change alt to meta as it stays
unused and is somewhat system key so it will be more intuitive to use it -
system key for system.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377722

I've roughly checked and gnome default setting is to use meta key to move
windows but ubuntu defaults to alt for both unity and gnome not sure why.
Fedora uses default meta. Can check more distros if you want.
Another app using alt+click is Inkscape to select object below.
Blender also uses alt+click for loop selection.
It's not a problem to change that shortcut especially that KDE has this setting
visible without need to install any tweak. But changing default will reduce
googling for first-time users.

Now mouse over is fixed but background stays after clicking icon. Clicking on
empty desktop space clears selection. I'm not sure if it's intentional or bug.

This is most probably related to arc theme, but I report this here too, maybe
it will be useful while resetting settings or something, so user can't brake
desktop. Hope I helped a little.
I've installed arc-kde theme and after switching back to Breeze there is such
effect visible on desktop icons.

Dolphin has pretty nice multi-rename tool, but it lacks matching pattern
feature. Krename is pretty old and requires kde4, latest packaged version
4.0.9-3 in Neon is from 2013.
It would be nice to have integrated multi-rename tool with regexp or just word
matching to replace current name with new name based on expression.

It would be nice to have dropdown menu for LCD filter settings. Light setting
enhances sharpness on medium resolution displays. Currently to change this
option you need to manually edit fonts.conf.

Neon distribution doesn't have more advanced package manager, so to install
software from outside repositories requires using cli.

Current version of discover allows only to delete ppa sources. It would be
great to allow:
- add (to separate files as apt-add-repository)
- modify existing sources
- update sources
- purge --autoremove packages

These could be nice additions when professional printing is involved.
1. Current pdf import is always RGB, but press pdfs are CMYK. Workaround by
creating CMYK image and inserting pdf layer still uses CMYK->RGB->CMYK
conversion
2. Exporting PDF in both CMYK and RGB to allow direct sending files to print
office without any additional tools.

Discover hasn't been working since updating system kubuntu 14.04 into 16.04.

Yes, it updates all packages and programs, but I have konsole and apt (or
apt-get, or aptitude)for this. I need to download programs more comfortable
than in konsole, but Discover just can't show me them. (Working sections are
only vidgets and fonts)

Please, help me.
