Same problem for me.

It was working smoothly till some months ago, then after applying recent
updates on pc and android side, they do not recognize and pair each other.

Present versions are 1.3.3-2 on Debian 10.1 + Plasma 5.14.5, and 1.13.2 on
android 6.0.1

Although I doubt that the requirement be "too niche", for the reasons already
well explained by M. Vishap, I cannot but take note.

I would like to apply your patch, but my experience in doing that is very
limited: may I ask you to provide some guidelines on how to download the .diff
and apply it.
I see that changes are quite simple and could be just applied by editing the
object file, but I cannot find the "main.qml" file.

Thanks in advance for your patience and help.

I fully agree with your comment.
I am still having this same problem (not being able to configure desktop icons
to open with 2-clicks) in Plasma v. 5.14.5 under Debian Buster.
And I consider it as well highly annoying exactly for the reasons you are
telling.

I would like to ask KDE team what "Resolved Intentional" actually means: is it
just a polite way to tell that KDE has no intention to allow for this option ?
it would really be a pity for an otherwise excellent desktop.
So I am confident that they want to pay attention to this issue, and thanks in
advance for that.

I made an additional trial (with a rw disc): this time the progress indicator
blocked in between.
Attached are the screenshots I could take.

debug report

SUMMARY

Burning from an iso image, everything went ok up to showing the progress
window.
Here, the upper window indicated the start of writing, but in the lower part
the progress indicators remained at zero.
I was thinking that the process was hung, when a pop-up briefly appeared
enunciating that the image had been burnt, then a brief pop that no medium was
found, and immediately after that the image hsd been checked successfully (I
had checked for that option).
Browsing the content, it looks ok, but being a bootable dvd (supergrub2) I
didn't test it yet.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 405788] Cannot browse handheld from desktop

2019-04-06 Thread Giuliano
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405788

The problem on the PC side is that Kdeconnect has tens of dependencies to
satisfy ...

On the Android side instead, I don't know if there is the possibility to
install a previous version, and worst,

if it is possible to keep the present version (which is working well with
Debian Testing release) from automatically being updated, thus probably causing
the same problem in a few months.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 405788] Cannot browse handheld from desktop

2019-04-05 Thread Giuliano
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405788

well, in fact they do not match: the one on Android is newer than the one on
Debian stable (Stretch).

Waiting for the new Debian release, how can the mismatch be handled ? and once
they are synch'ed , how to avoid that one gets "asynchronously" updated ?

[kdeconnect] [Bug 405788] New: Cannot browse handheld from desktop

2019-03-23 Thread Giuliano
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405788

Bug ID: 405788
Summary: Cannot browse handheld from desktop
   Product: kdeconnect
   Version: 1.0
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: common
  Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com
  Reporter: gcab_d...@libero.it
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I am running Debian 9.8 amd64 with KDE, and installed KdeConnect in the version
provided by Debian.
Everything works fine on the phone side (Honor 7), right upon connecting.
On the desktop side, I can ring the phone and share clipboard.
When trying to browse it,instead, while I correctly get the device listed on
Dolphin (and Konqueror and Krusader), the content is just a folder with a
strange denomination (5D67-6224). Trying to open it I get the message:
"Error: The file or folder
/home/giuliano/.config/kdeconnect/1ee2f76378eb5b6a/kdeconnect_sftp/1ee2f76378eb5b6a/5D67-6224
does not exist." And in fact that folder does not exist.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
As said above. The error repeat always, and with the same folder name.
Installing the files suggested with KdeConnect does not change the situation.

OBSERVED RESULT

EXPECTED RESULT
Being able to browse the phone is of course a major feature of such a wonderful
instrument, for which I congratulate and thank you for your work.
Please give some hint on how to solve the problem, even considering that the
connection via usb cable does not work (the connection goes up an down), so I
have no way to browse the phone.
