Due to many hardware issues with my T14, I stopped using Linux as my main desktop OS. I booted my system and noticed the bug again and remembered this bug report so I decided to test it properly. Hardware info: Thinkpad T14 AMD Gen 1 and Thinkpad USB-C dock Gen 2 This is definitely not a KDE / KWin / KScreen bug. To be sure, I decided to use a completely different software stack to test it. I used a wlroots based Wayland compositor, Wayfire [1]. With wlr based compositors, one can use wlr-randr utility in a similar way to xrandr. As it can be seen in the attachments the port organization changes after unplugging and replugging the dock. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kscreenlocker] [Bug 428706] New: Cannot unlock session after screen switches off in Wayland
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428706 Bug ID: 428706 Summary: Cannot unlock session after screen switches off in Wayland Product: kscreenlocker Version: unspecified Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: ongun.ka...@gmail.com CC: bhus...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 133034 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=133034=edit The output of journalctl --boot 0 --priority warning SUMMARY I decided to try Wayland session out since I have a new Hi-DPI monitor. However I cannot unlock if the session goes into power saving mode and switches the display off. I can see and move the mouse but the greeter screen does not show up. I can reproduce the bug reliably. I can unlock the session using loginctl unlock-session. There are a couple of crashes in journalctl. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Lock the screen or wait until plasma locks it down 2. Wait until screen switches off OBSERVED RESULT Cannot login. Entering the password "in the dark" does not unlock the session. I have to switch into a TTY to unlock it with loginctl. EXPECTED RESULT The screen locker should be displayed and I should be able to unlock. [systemsettings] [Bug 417461] New: KCM Color shouldn't use generic GTK CSS color classes
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417461 Bug ID: 417461 Summary: KCM Color shouldn't use generic GTK CSS color classes Product: systemsettings Version: 5.17.5 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: kcm_colors Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: ongun.ka...@gmail.com CC: jpwhit...@kde.org, mwoehlke.fl...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 125876 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=125876=edit Screenshot for Clearlooks Phenix SUMMARY While using theme_ for a uniform look between GTK and KDE it leads unintended results. Not every GTK theme is designed to support colors but some of them still use theme_* items which causes some GTK themes to break. My proposed solution is using a completely different naming scheme (if GTK3 allows this) for Breeze-gtk and modifying kcm_color accordingly KDE's @define-color items can have some prefix like kde_theme_fg_color in ~/.config/colors.css file. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Choose Breeze dark in kcm_color 2. Install gtk3-widget-factory 3. Download latest release Clearlooks-Phenix ( https://github.com/jpfleury/clearlooks-phenix ) 4. Extract contents in a folder under ~/.themes . I will rename the top level directory that contains index.theme as clearfoo 5. Run GTK_THEME=clearfoo gtk3-widget-factory OBSERVED RESULT Breeze-dark colors set in ~/.config/gtk-3.0/colors.css override some of the colors of Clearlooks Phenix and break the theme. EXPECTED RESULT GTK themes other than the ones strive for KDE compatibility shouldn't be affected by KDE's color settings. I use Synaptics X11 driver. If a text file with lines longer than the view frame of KTextEditor is loaded, I encounter a weird diagonal scrolling behavior when I scroll vertically. I don't mean small amounts of horizontal scrolling caused by hand. I don't encounter this problem with other Qt and GTK text editors. Videos of Kate, Geany and Notepadqq when I am scrolling using the same gesture / hand position is attached. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Load a text file with long lines or resize the window of a editor which uses KTextEditor (Kate, Kwrite etc.) 2. [plasmashell] [Bug 372789] Plasma freezes with black screen when logging out

It is still reproducible for me on Plasma 5.11.3. The system becomes unresponsive to keyboard so Ctrl+Alt+F(1,2,3...) doesn't work. My attempts to gain keyboard input via magic SysRq combination Alt+SysRq+R then trying to switch TTYs were also failed. I don't have ssh on my machine so after an unsuccessful trial I continue the sequence of Alt + SysRq + {R,E,I,S,U,B} and reboot my laptop. The problem is always reproducible and occurs when I log out from X11 session and log in to Wayland. If I log in to Wayland session directly after a reboot, logout and reboot works correctly. Thinking it might be a cleanup/clean exit issue I have recorded process trees as well as the journalctl log you can find them below. The second clue that it might be a cleanup issue is that systemd/dbus residue after logging out X11 session. Killing all the processes from previous session results in correct behavior. It still might be a SDDM issue though. Unfortunately I cannot test Wayland session without systemd. I thought it shares the same code part as tab creation (didn't dig into code). So I changed the "Initial directory" to my home directory and also unchecked "Start in the same directory as current tab" in current profile settings dialog.
