I'd find it much more overseeable if nickneames would sit in a seperate row
from the actual chat content, like it is the case in e.g. hexchat (and every
other irc chat app I know). I'd really not like to switch back to hexchat :/

Is something like this planned?

Hey, no actually I never saw this happen. I have uploaded a screenshot from

Oftentimes I get lost in the chat when I use Konversation, while the hexchat
approach looks very clean to me.
Btw Quassel has it too:

[systemsettings] [Bug 396293] New: Selecting Window Decorations menu item reverts some settings

2018-07-07 Thread Philip P .
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396293

Bug ID: 396293
Summary: Selecting Window Decorations menu item reverts some

   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.13.2
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: nuc...@hotmail.de
  Target Milestone: ---

So I don't really know what's going on with my Plasma setup, but KDE keeps
reverting/changing some settings and it's annoying as hell (konsole settings,
font settings, default audio device changing, etc). Not sure if this particular
bug is causing all of it, but I guess I need to start somewhere.

So once I select System Settings -> Application Style -> Window Decoration and
then select a different system setting (wihtout changing anything), Plasma
prompts the "Discard or Apply changed settings" dialog.
When I press discard, my settings get changed/reverted, for example my font
configuration which I have set to Full hinting and RGB, resets to "Vendor
Default" (once it even changed to BGR -- dunno if it's related to this or a
different bug).

So are you guys also getting this? It's just really confusing and I hope this
can be resolved :)

Status: UNCONFIRMED

  Target Milestone: ---

So everytime I get a sound cue (e.g. when getting the "Discard or Apply changed
settings" dialog under System Settings) I would get a notification that default
audio device is being "switched":

"Switching to the audio playback device Family 17h (Models 00h-0fh) HD Audio
controller Analog Stereo which has higher preference or is specifically
configured for this stream."

I get this notification again each time after reopening system settings and
getting another sound cue.

Why is it switching constantly?? I just want my default device to be used all
the time, no switching involved..

Also, while I don't know if it's related, my default playback device hasn't
been used by Spotify automatically, but I needed to change it for Spotify
manually *again*. So either I really get something wrong or setting the default
audio device under KDE doesn't work correctly. Note that I manually changed my
default playback device at the very beginning after installing KDE.

Sorry if this sounds confusing, but that's just how confusing it looks to me as
an end user.

It would be really neat to add "Emojis" to that list; or even integrate the new

That would be really awesome as I have real use-cases for that and I think

Hey sorry for the late answer. Tbh I have kinda given up reporting bugs related
to plasma, but here we go.

Yes the bug is still occuring to me. I have tried your suggestion of adding a
new user. I did it the GUI way and encountered at least 3 plasma bugs again but
who cares (last time I tried out wayland it completely destroyed my regular
plasma session, so I have basically given up on experimenting).

Anyways on a new session I cannot reproduce the bug. However I have only tried
it once. As I said the issue is intermittend for me - meaning sometimes it just
works, but other times it just doesn't.

So not sure what to make of this, if you want any logs, I can provide it,
however I am not going to reset my whole user session or anything comparable. I
have a hard time avoiding bugs in plasma already, yet reconfiguring my session.

[plasmashell] [Bug 419421] QML timers go too fast when using mixed refresh rate screens on X11

2021-01-15 Thread Philip P.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419421

Hey looks like this finally blew up a little :D

Im also on a 240hz(DP)<->60hz(hdmi) setup.
AMD RX470 graphics card here, with open drivers.

I did not not modify an config files though, I was able to simply set the 240hz
from the Plasma Settings.

Same issue with the notifications (I never knew what the heck is wrong with
then lol).
The progress bar within notifications is also often not working correctly.. but
that might also be a different bug :p

[frameworks-baloo] [Bug 419302] Dolphin search/baloo shows a lot of duplicates

2022-03-05 Thread Philip P.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419302

Actually I am on ext4, and I am pretty sure I was on ext4 back then, too.

However I do not use plasma anymore so cannot comment further on the issue.

However trying my repro steps from
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419302#c4 might be an indicator if the
bugs are connected :)

[plasmashell] [Bug 419421] QML timers go too fast with multi-threaded render loop when using any high refresh rate screens on X11 when using proprietary NVIDIA drivers

2023-03-24 Thread Philip P.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419421

I am not sure who changed the title of this bug report, but I am the original
reporter of this bug and I have never used an NVIDIA graphics card...

As I have pointed out earlier I am on a RX470.

I will test again once Plasma is on Qt6.
