[Breeze] [Bug 473014] New: Add icon for backup files like .bak, separate from current recycling icon
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=473014 Bug ID: 473014 Summary: Add icon for backup files like .bak, separate from current recycling icon Classification: Plasma Product: Breeze Version: 5.27.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: Icons Assignee: visual-des...@kde.org Reporter: f.alexander.wi...@gmail.com CC: kain...@gmail.com, m...@nueljl.in Target Milestone: --- According to https://www.bivouak.fr/dolphin-at-akademy-2023/ , .bak files are associated with the mime type application/x-trash. While I think naming the mime type "trash" is not a good fit, I think one way or another, the icon should reflect that the file is a backup and not use the recycling icon. But since https://www.iana.org/assignments/media-types/media-types.xhtml doesn't mention an application/x-trash mime type either, maybe it might sense to add an icon for application/x-backup. A Google search does show a few results for "application/x-backup". A noun project search for "backup" shows quite a few results showing a clock with a counter-clockwise arrow along its circumference. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Dolphin 2. Create example.bak file OBSERVED RESULT An icon that suggests the file belongs in the trash EXPECTED RESULT An icon that suggests that the file is a potentially important backup SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20230803 KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.7 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.108.0 Qt Version: 5.15.10 Kernel Version: 6.4.6-1-default (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Breeze] [Bug 466630] "Switch user" icon in Kickoff is too detailed/small at high resolutions
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=466630 --- Comment #5 from Alexander Wilms --- I don't think there is a 16px version of the system-switch-user icon. I can't find it in /usr/share/icons/breeze and not in https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/breeze-icons/-/tree/master/icons/actions/16 either Nate and I determined that the difference between our screenshots was due to the different screen scale. Attached are two cuttlefish screenshots at 100% and 200% scale. It seems like at 200% scale, the 32 px icon is scaled and used as the 16 px version. Nate theorized that KIconLoader may be picking the wrong icon size. Regardless, the icon seems to be pretty hard to read at that size, so I think an actual 16px version should be added. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
