Okular crashes on opening a PDF file from ANY application.
Dolphin, command line, etc.

Opening the same file from its "File | Open..." menu succeeds.

[Spectacle] [Bug 423673] New: Rectangular region - highlighted area doesn't appear

2020-06-29 Thread Corrado Mella
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423673

Bug ID: 423673
Summary: Rectangular region - highlighted area doesn't appear
   Product: Spectacle
   Version: 17.12.3
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: m...@baloneygeek.com
  Reporter: corrado.me...@gmail.com
CC: k...@david-redondo.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

When choosing the "Rectangular Region" Capture Mode Area, (regardless of "on
click" activated or not), when dragging the mouse the area is not visible.
Any change in the "Rectangular Region" settings in the program preferences does
not fix the problem.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Setup Spectacle as above
2. Click, hold and start dragging
3. Release the click

OBSERVED RESULT
Mouse cursor correctly changes shape to a "+" while dragging.
No area is visibly highlighted.
On release, the mouse cursor changes shape to an open hand where the captured
region should be, to corner drag pointer where the upper left / lower right
corner of the selection should be, to a closed fist when clicking inside where
the selection should be to drag it.
Captured area is successfully available in the program after double click /
"Enter" keypress.

EXPECTED RESULT
As above, but with visible highlighted area.
