[systemsettings] [Bug 449002] KDE is not launching autostart scripts after suspend wakeup

2022-01-23 Thread Cruz Enrique
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449002

(In reply to Nicolas Fella from comment #1)
> What do you mean with "configuration is lost"?

The effect of the script is lost. I mean, "somewhere" , "something" is re
running the configuration of xmodmap when I think it should not be done. I
assume that other configurations (probably, related to screens) are also
executed (and this is why we have a lot of screen flicker when we restart from
suspend). Could this be a side effect of kscreen trying to hard to reconfigure
the xserver?

> Autostart scripts are run at *Start*, they are not supposed to run on wakeup

Yes, this is a good point. In that case, I am not sure if this is a bug or a
new feature to be added

[systemsettings] [Bug 449002] New: KDE is not launching autostart scripts after suspend wakeup

2022-01-23 Thread Cruz Enrique
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449002

Bug ID: 449002
Summary: KDE is not launching autostart scripts after suspend
wakeup
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.23.5
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_autostart
  Assignee: nicolas.fe...@gmx.de
  Reporter: cruzki...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I have created a auto start scrip [1] to modify my keyboard distribution
(laptop keyboard without menu key, in fact is a KDE slimbook with Neon). At
startup, it works fine but after any suspend event, the configuration is lost.
I am using X11 and have not tested with wayland (not sure if the script works
anymore in wayland, although). The bug seems to exists from some time [2] and
happens to more people than me.

[1] xmodmap -e "keycode 105 = Menu"
[2]
https://superuser.com/questions/1173979/how-to-run-programs-in-kde-after-suspend-wakeup

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Trigger any suspend actions
2. Configuration is lost
3. If I manually execute the code, the configuration is restored

OBSERVED RESULT

EXPECTED RESULT
Configuration is keep after suspend events

Hi everyone,

Per suggestion of downstream, I have change from using "libinput" to "evedev"
driver and for now all works as expected. I do not know if I should close this
or change the title to include that it is a problem with libinput.

Thanks in advance

[systemsettings] [Bug 423039] New: all version of plasma after 5.18.5 broke keyboard layout after close the session

2020-06-16 Thread Cruz Enrique
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423039

Bug ID: 423039
Summary: all version of plasma after 5.18.5 broke keyboard
layout after close the session
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.18.5
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_keyboard_layout
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: cruzki...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
After the update to plasma 5.18.5 I have a completely messed up keyboard
layout. A new profile temporally solve the problem but as soon as it is saved
(by saved any change in system setting) or login out completely, the keyboard
layout is again messed . I have tried with several one of them (US, ES) variant
(international, traditional), keyboard models, etc. an in all case the keyboard
is messed. Using and external keyboard without the numlock buton the keys in
the num pad are correctly mapped.

I have tried with the laptop keyboard and with an external one and seems to be
the same. If I crt + alt + f1 and open a console, the buttons are correctly
mapped. In SDDM is also correctly mapped.

When I said messed I mean that letters and f keys continue to be in its
position but every other button is mapped elsewhere (up is now print, left is
alt gr, right, page up, ends, ins seems to not be mapped at all, page down to /
, start to pause, screen capture to delete, alt gr to number pad enter, control
to next)

Writing with this setup is quite complicated and now I cannot go back to any
version that does not have the bug.

Thanks in advance

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. install any version above 5.18.5
2. change any settings in the keyboard tab
3. save

OBSERVED RESULT
keyboard layout messed

EXPECTED RESULT
leave the keyboard layout from the system

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: plasma above 5.18.5
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version:
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70 and 5.71

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Tested using stable gentoo and now with stable gentoo and unstable kde stack.

Hi,

I have also the same problem but:

* it happen in all my screens and
* the only application that is affected is libreoffice (gtk based).

In my case, the windows does not disappears, it just is mega ultra narrow. I
have gotten to resize it several times, but it is just easier to maximize or
move it using the menu. In any case, I think that what you are describing is a
completely different bug than this.

2020-04-17 Thread Cruz Enrique
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359046

Now that I think about it, I think I can nail a bit more when it happens.

It only happens when the attached screen is configured to NOT be the primary
screen and IS bigger that the primary one. In my case, when you plug the FullHD
TV to my laptop. Nevertheless, the bug does not shows when I plug my work
screen (that is configures as a primary) or when I plug a beamer (that are
typlically smaller in resolution than the laptop screen).

Its continues to be 100% reproducible with plasma 5.18.4.1. Moreover, it is
possible to "correct" the problem if you switch the primary screen back and
