[apper] [Bug 314449] Apper wrongly states that additional packages are required while they are recommended only
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314449 Dimitri Nüscheler changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDSINFO |REPORTED Resolution|WAITINGFORINFO |--- --- Comment #4 from Dimitri Nüscheler --- Hi Justin Sorry for not following up earlier. I now tested Apper 1.0.0 on Debian Bookworm. I uninstalled khelpcenter and tested if the installation of ktuberling using apper would result in the installation of khelpcenter (ktuberling recommends khelpcenter). It does want to install khelpcenter and I can't click it away. The dialogue says "Zur Aufgabenerfüllung sind weitere Aktionen notwendig", so I think the behaviour has not changed. However, i wouldn't call the semantic issue of calling something "notwendig" (necessary) that is not necessary, but only recommended a real bug. I would call it a feature request to implement the apt install command line option --no-install-recommends within apper (e.g. as a checkbox in said dialogue that is initialized with the default). My stakes have somewhat decreased since I haven't used apper in a long time, so in my opinion the issue can also be closed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 412700] New: When closing a window in the "Show windows of all Virtual Desktops" Overview then the screen hangs for about 1 second
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412700 Bug ID: 412700 Summary: When closing a window in the "Show windows of all Virtual Desktops" Overview then the screen hangs for about 1 second Product: kwin Version: 5.12.8 Platform: Kubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: compositing Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: dimitri.nuesche...@sunrise.ch Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When closing a window (or when hovering the mouse over 2 windows and the desktop in the background) in the "Show windows of all Virtual Desktops" Overview (Ctrl+F10), then rendering stops for one second. After about one second the rendering continues at a normal framerate. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open 2 windows (Maybe it shows even with one window). For instance 2 konsole-Terminals. 2. Press Ctrl+F10 in order to activate the "Show windows of all Virtual Desktops" Overview. 3. Close one terminal window OBSERVED RESULT After closing the window, the screen content hangs for one second. The mouse cursor movement is still rendered at proper speed. The hang occurs at the time when the window is fading out as a result of the close action, but it doesn't seem to be related to the exact state of the rendering. My setup uses 2 monitors, but it is also possible to see the hang if only one monitor is used. With 2 monitors, however, it is possible to produce a hang by hovering the mouse between 2 windows that are on different monitors. It is necessary to move the mouse between the 2 windows and to hover also a piece of the desktop region in order for the hang to show. It doesn't work when the 2 windows are on the same monitor. EXPECTED RESULT Average framerate above 50 frames per second. Longest interval to be smaller than 40 milliseconds. To do that, I clicked on the Launcher, searched for Calligra, then right click menu "Manage Calligra..." which opens Discover, and there clicked Remove; I did this for both Works and Sheets. After that, searching for calligra in the Launcher there was still an option "Run Calligra", which I clicked to see if it would still open anything; that made Discover crash, and after that it crashed every time I want to browse the Installed category (haven't tried other categories/options yet). This causes multiple layers to be made when I only want one, multiple layers being deleted, check boxes being enabled and disabled in an instant, and it just makes interacting with the UI slightly frustrating. I've tested this both on my laptop and desktop running OS X, and its present in both. (I've tested the software in Linux as well, and its not hardware or user error because the problem doesn't exist there.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
