[systemsettings] [Bug 370235] New: System Settings - System Administration - Login Screen - KDE 4.14.9 - User Icon File placement

2016-10-07 Thread Don Curtis via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370235

Bug ID: 370235
Summary: System Settings - System Administration - Login Screen
- KDE 4.14.9 - User Icon File placement
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: bugrprt21...@online.de

KDE4 Plasma Version 4.14.9 - System Administration Version 4.11.20 - openSUSE
13.2

When a system-wide User Icon for the KDM Login Screen is set-up, the icon file
is written to /usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/ with the file name
"faces.face.icon".

I am using non-KDE icon files for the system-wide user's login icon.

Renaming the file to ".face.icon" and moving it to the directory
/usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/faces/ is the current work-around that I'm using.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open "System Settings".
2. Choose "System Administration".
3. Choose "Login Screen".
4. With "User's Pictures" choose an icon file (non-KDE) for the user's login
system-wide icon.

Actual Results:
The individual user's login icon file is placed in the directory
/usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/ with the file name "faces.face.icon".

Expected Results:
The individual user's login icon file should be placed in the directory
/usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/faces/ with the file name ".face.icon".

Normal up-to-date openSUSE 13.2 system with KDE4 Plasma.

[marble] [Bug 369154] digiKam crashed during starting

2016-09-21 Thread Don Curtis via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369154

Deleted the database and the Plasma 5 configuration;
reinitialised the database and the configuration;
currently it's stable.
-
More than 10 000 Digital Camera files plus more than 500 digitalised analogue
photographs.
-
digiKam 5.1.0 was initially installed last month as an upgrade of the Qt4
version -- the database was first created about 4 years ago (unsure as to
exactly when).

[plasmashell] [Bug 366175] Application: Plasma (plasmashell), signal: Segmentation fault

OK. I hear what you're saying: I'll install the openSUSE debuginfo packages and
wait for the next Segmentation fault signal.
---
Given the missing symbols in this crash report and also given that I'll need to
find the core file before resubmitting with the missing symbol information, it
may be better to close this report and wait for the next Segmentation fault.

[dolphin] [Bug 366177] New: Directory properties - Permissions - sticky bit

2016-07-27 Thread Don Curtis via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=366177

Bug ID: 366177
Summary: Directory properties - Permissions - sticky bit
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 15.12.3
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: bugrprt21...@online.de

The check box "Only owner can rename and delete folder content" does not set a
directory's "sticky bit".

If the directory's "sticky bit" is set from the CLI, Dolphin indicates the "T"
in the "Permissions" field and, if the check box status is not changed, does
not change the directory's "sticky bit".

If however the check box is cleared, or cleared and then re-enabled, on
clicking the "OK" button, the directory's "sticky bit" is cleared.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Choose a directory which does not have the "sticky bit" set.
2. Open a directory's Properties.
3. Select the "Permissions" tab.
4. Enable the "Only owner can rename and delete folder content" check box.

Actual Results:
The directory's "sticky bit" is not set.

Expected Results:
The directory's "sticky bit" is set.

Given that a directory's "sticky bit" is a basic, fundamental, standard Linux
and UNIX® directory file property, it is possibly quite embarrassing that this
has somehow been overlooked.
