I can confirm that the Arch Linux package does fix the problem. However, I only
managed to make it work properly after having the regular kde installed and
then installing 'plasma-desktop-git' and replacing 'only' the conflicting
packages. Some details:
1- You will not be able to run kmail, since the only kmail package is
incompatible.
2- There is a chance you might need to install and run khotkeys, so your
keyboard shortcuts can work.
On another note: it seems that this month's release of kdeplasma has this
commit:
https://quickgit.kde.org/?p=libkscreen.git=commit=b41afa319d91683e99ba0d7d8c5760aaf0fe86fe
which may fix this problem? did anyone try this yet?
