I am sorry but I do not understand, where the problem is. It seems to crash
within Qt and if (as you say) several applications crash, it indeed seems to be
a problem a bit lower in the stack.

Have you contacted the slackware team packaging Qt? They might know something
about this.

One thing to note here, though.
Due to the size of the German team (two people) and due to the size of some
translations which are also very domain-specific (digikam, calligra, skrooge,
kstars ...) some applications are not acively maintained. Digikam is one of
them. So we will fix things like these and even add some new translations but
currently we just do not have the manpower to deliver a 100% translation of
Digikam. Sorry for that but we need more helping hands. :)

Hmm, not sure about the versions from opensuse. 
The translations should be in the
kde-l10n-de
or
kde4-l10n-de
package.
KMahjongg 0.8 is the pre-KF5 version, so libkdegames from KDE 4 is used.

Please ask your opensuse packagers for advice.

I am sorry about this problem. It did not occur on my box when I ported
KMahjongg.

Two months ago I tried to debug this but got confused by all the locations
stuff can be put to (by CMake) and looked for (by Qt). Currenty I am in the
process of finding a flat in another city and starting a new job so in the
coming weeks (or small number of months) I am likely not able to sit down for
this again.

Hi,

unfortunately I cannot give you a good bt because I am on a mixed system of
Debian Sid and Experimental and the -dbp oackages are conflicting at the
moment.

But let me explain my problem. In the KDE 4 version of KMail, deleting
attachments sometimes failed. I just right-clicked, selected "Delete
Attachment" from the context menu and nothing happened. To make it work again,
I had to first select another email in the message list and then select the
original email again. Then I could resume deleting attachments. Sometimes I had
to delete one at a time and do the selection game in between, sometimes I was
able to delete 2 to 5 attachments before it was stuck again but that's how it
was in KDE 4 for me.

Now I installed the KF5 version of KMail (5.2.1) and the behaviour changed a
bit. I can delete way more attachments before the deletion process gets stuck
and I have to select and re-select as described above. But now, KMail crashes
sometimes when deleting an attachment.

The getting stuck and sometimes crash behaviour seems to get worse the more
attachments I delete. And once I wait for 5 minutes, I can continue without
problems ... until it gets worse again.

My Mail Server is posteo.de (in case that's helping) and I am connected via
IMAP.

To test this, just send yourself an email with e.g. 50 attachments and start
deleting.

Maybe this will also count as a wishlist for a "Delete all attachments" action.

In general unused code should be removed. But if it's a half-implemented
feature, the feature could as well be implemented fully. That's a decision for
the maintainer ... if there will be one again.

Ths string in question is used in a KMessageBox. Does that use QLabels
internally?
My minimal example indeed uses QLabel and with  it works. After rewriting it
to use KMessageBox::warningContinueCancel() it also works with  but not with
.

My findings:
- In the German translation, I can see no fault. The tag structure is identical
to the one in the original string.

- Indeed, when switching to US language, that dialog looks good.
(although switching languages is broken in KDE in general, leading to a

Thank you for the feedback. I also just checked on another computer and the
issue can indeed be fixed by installing that package. Since the package
maintainers in Ubuntu are the Debian packagers and the Debian bugtracker has

The problem is, that we do not have a domain expert in our team. I could now
fix the issues mentioned here (and I will in a week or two) but Krita could be

Not sure what problem was fixed here, but if the former string was too long for
some places, many translation will still be too long.

Besides that, the Generic Name could be more generic. Something like
"Mathematical Software". The user does not care if the mathematics is done by
the application itself or some library.

Search for "GenericName" on
https://specifications.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/desktop-entry-spec-latest.html
and read the table entry.

Ok, that's the affected version. And KMines uses KRandomSequence (from
KCoreAddons) to generate the mine positions.
The issue has been fixed last week and packagers have been notified to ship
updates as soon as possible.
In Fedora, the package kf5-kcoreaddons-5.21.0-4 contains the fix. It should
land soon.

I have this problem for a long time now.
Shortcuts like Ctrl+S for Saving do work in Kate but not in KDevelop for
instance.
My intuition told me that the KF5 versions work but the KDE4 versions don't,
but I did not check this properly.

Qt 4.8.7 and 5.5.1 installed.
My keyboard layout is US with some custom mappings with xmodmap.

I am not quite sure what to add to the discussion at this point. The 2011 one

Ok, thank you for the report and for giving the hints on how to fix it. The
kdegames team is very short on staff and many games are basically unmaintained
so things tend to fall off the table once in a while.

Now I removed the whole install dir and the build dirs of libkdegames,

What am I doing wrong?

I do:
- copy the file attached earlier to ~.kde/share/config/kmahjonggrc,
- change the path inside the file to the location of the desktop file on my
system (resides under $HOME),
- remove .config/kmahjonggrc and then
- start KMahjongg.

KMahjongg starts fine and the new kmahjonggrc file is created in .config/ with
the correct layout.

Hmm, for me that works just fine.
On first start I get similar output as yours but the game starts. On second
start, the output shrinks down a few error messages and the game also starts.
If the paths are wrong, the loading falls back to a default. It should load the
game fine, though.

After the first start my config file starts with:
  1 [General]
  2
Background_file=/home/fs/kde5apps/share/kmahjongglib/backgrounds/egyptian.desktop
  3 Layout_file=/home/fs/kde5apps/share/kmahjongg/layouts/default.desktop
  4 Tileset_file=/home/fs/kde5apps/share/kmahjongglib/tilesets/default.desktop

I changed some background-related stuff in libkmahjongg in November.

Might that be related?

Since I do not have access to a distro package of the new KMahjongg yet, I can
only test with the Git version. And there I cannot yet reproduce the problem.

Tja, 2012 ... Kurz danach habe ich angefangen zu arbeiten und so ist das
verschütt gegangen. Über die Jahre habe ich diese Änderung aber intuitiv
umgesetzt, wenn ein String eh geändert wurde, daher ist gar nicht mehr so viel
zu ändern gewesen.

Heute habe ich dann die restlichen Vorkommen (soweit auffindbar) geändert.

Hi,

if, for example, the folder
templates/playground-multimedia
contains a POT file but the folder
de/playground-multimedia
does not yet exist, Lokalize does not show me the missing PO file in the
Project Overview.

This happens mainly when using git-svn for managing KDE translations because
git-svn removed empty folders but might bite others in different setups as
well.

But it's not that strictly applyable because the original texts are not unified
enough. For example this "Popup" is basically nothing. There are many things
that can pop up. Menus. notifications, messages in general. And I guess that's
how the translation came to be. "Enable Popup"? It's more likely you can enable
or disable a notification than a menu, isn't it? We cannot check every string
in every place so we have to approximate here and there with some common sense.
And that might fail.

That's why people like you are important for the KDE translation. :)

Umm, maybe you can explain to me how I can see that Quicklaunch widget? I do
not have it in my list of desktop widgets.

The command "apt-get build-dep kshisen" might save you some trouble getting the
dependencies.

Klickety used KNotify for sounds and there are indeed problems with it.
I am also on Debian and I have that problem with Amarok. Sometimes Amarok sets
the KMix volume to its own.

However, this volume business should not be caused by Klickety or KDEGames.

Furthermore, I ported Klickety away from KNotify today. It now uses KgSound
(OpenAL) so the problem should be gone with the next major version (KDE 16.04?)

I could not make it work with the Enum so I used hree Bools instead.
It's more ugly this way (code-wise) and if someone knows how to make the

Hmm, unfortunately there are no newer packages for either Ubuntu or Debian.
Ubuntu Xenial still has 15.08 in it's archives. I hope they will update it
before the release in April.

Compiling a KDE application is not trivial (lots of prerequisites) so I would
not recommend it if you did not compile a KDE application yet.

Currently I am busy with a nasty porting bug in Klickety. As soon as that is
fixed, I will spend time again on KShisen.

I did not know clashing accelerators still existed since Qt takes care of
reassigning them automatically in case of multiple identical keys.

I am sorry but the situation here is unfortunate.
1. since that version, I changed quite some things in KShisen
2. I just started ripping it all apart because many parts of the code are old
and not written by me (so I sometimes do not know how they are supposed to
work)
3. KDevelop refuses to parse the 15.08 version so it does not help me at all
while browsing the code
4. I tried to reproduce today again and failed with around 20 games.

So, I believe you that there is a problem, but cannot reproduce it, have a hard
time checking the related code for several reasons and also have problems
wrapping my head around that specific code, which made me start a complete
rewrite.

Do you have any chance to install version 15.12?

I played around 30 rounds today, won 10 of them and all the times, the scoring
was alright.

Klickety does not have a dedicated maintainer, so reports to it are laying
stale. Sorry for that.

Since this crash does not have any information pointing to Klickety (crahing
way deep in Qt code), I think it's not of any value to future maintainer. Less
so since Klickety has now been ported to Kf5 and as such sits on top of a new
foundation.

If you can still reproduce this, please reopen with a new backtrace. Thanks.

Oh snap, I added this yesterday without knowing this. I should start a
discussion about this on the mailing list then. :)

I think all apps should have a GenericName, even if it's only "A Game", which
would be totally fine with the desktop file specs.

I cannot reproduce this issue in the current master branch. The master branch
contains a major rewrite of the painting system.

Therefor I will close this report now. If you think this is unjustified, please
