            Bug ID: 411659
           Summary: Unknown error.
           Product: krita
           Version: 4.2.5
          Platform: MS Windows
                OS: MS Windows
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Animation
          Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: mrgrahamcracke...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
While attempting to render an animation, the window displaying the loading bar
appears, halts at approximately 70%, and then either crashes the application
and exports only the frames, or displays a window that states "Could not render
animation:Unknown error." and exports a blank, 0 byte document that cannot seem
to be opened with any application.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download the most recent builds of both Krita and Ffmpeg. Unzip the Ffmpeg
file.

2. Create an animation (a simple one is recommended for testing purposes), and
go to File> Render Animation. Select to export as a video and render as a GIF.

3. Click on the file icon (which displays "Select file name..." when the cursor
hovers over it) next to the "FFMpeg: " box, which will bring you to downloads.

4. Open the extracted file "ffmpeg", then the file "bin", and select
ffmpeg.exe, after which you will be returned to the "Render Animation" window,
now with the address to that file in the "FFMpeg: " box.

5. Click "Ok"

OBSERVED RESULT
The program either crashes and exports only the frames, or displays an error
message and exports an empty file. There does not seem to be any pattern to the
outcome.

EXPECTED RESULT
The file should be exported as a GIF.
