The previous profiles were stored in the website's Drupal database, and should
be recoverable.
However, most of them will need to be tested. Since we can (if I remember
correctly) add several render profiles to one file, we could even have an
official "extra rendering codecs" package managed by us that adds some wanted
profiles. I will let you know as soon as the categories are setup on
store.kde.org and help will for sure be needed to re-add some profiles. I will
keep you updated

The issue was produced in some cases when the video file reported an incorrect
aspect ratio. 
This can be fixed by changing the proxy profile like this:
replace this part "-s 640x480" with: "-vf scale=640:-1"
This tells ffmpeg to keep aspect ratio

Ok, I finally found the problem. Image and title clips duration is not
correctly updated when expanding a clip in timeline. So if you look at your
project  xml, the master title producer has an out point of 149:



But when used in timeline we have this:

 

So when in timeline we have an out of 232, but since master producer has an out
of 149, all keyframes after 149 were discarded. I have to change the way we
update duration of title/images when we resize them to use the same mechanism
as color clips that store default duration in a property called:
"kdenlive:duration" and then update their length and out point on each timeline
resize.

The Qt-bug is not fixed:
https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-54676
But I pushed a workaround in master so it shouldn't be a problem anymore.

The KDE Frameworks bug is still not fixed despite my patch proposal, I just
pinged the Frameworks maintainer:
https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/128421/

So it still causes CPU usage and prevents going to sleep. I hope we can find a
solution for KDE Framewors 5.28.

Rotoscoping effect is known to crash in the Kdenlive 16.08.x versions. This was
fixed in git master and will be released as Kdenlive 16.12 in december.

The Chroma Key crash is something different. Can you get a backtrace ?

I cannot reproduce. Which render profile are you using ? What is the extension
of the rendered video file ? From your screenshot it looks like the rendered
video has no extension...

I can confirm. This is a problem in the frei0r cairoblend or in MLT. As a
workaround, you can use the new "Composite and Transform" transition that
offers similar composition modes without this problem

I can confirm the issue. It appears to be a problem in MLT. For some reason,
some filters are not found by MLT's command line application melt, which causes
it to discard this filter on rendering.

This in fact looks like a duplicate of bug #364278. Kdenlive 16.04.2 crashes on
some config. So unfortunately there is no easy fix unless your distro packagers
prepare 16.04.3 or 16.08.x versions

The GTK+ style is poorly supported because it does not allow customizing
colors. You can however solve the issue by installing the "gnome-color-chooser"
package. Open the application, and under the "Specific" tab, you have an option
to force Tooltips colors. In my tests, changing Foreground color does nothing,
but you can set the background color to something dark and it fixes the
kdenlive tooltips.

You should be able to easily test Kdenlive 16.08.x by using our official PPA.

Thanks for the details and the video. I can now confirm the bug. It is a
problem with the "affine" filter / transition that is part of MLT. There are
several issues with this effect / transition that are not easy to fix. Because
of this, I wrote a new effect / transition for MLT a few months ago that has
the same features fixes these problems. You can find the effect under the name
"Transform" and the transition under "Composite and Transform". Do you have
these available ? 
I should deprecate the use of Affine transition for Kdenlive 16.12 (added on
16.12 roadmap: https://phabricator.kde.org/T3788 )

Depending on how the package was built, a big caused crashes in frei0r. A patch
was committed last week to frei0r's git repo fixing the issue. So yes, if you
can recompile & install frei0r from git that should fix the problem:

No, proxy clips are shared. But the proxy name depends on the proxy profile. So
if in your first project, you have 720px height in the proxy setting, and in
your second project you have 240px height, the proxy will be recreated. However
if you use same proxy profile in both projects, the proxy clip will be reused.
Please check the proxy setting of your projects to confirm the problem.

Do you mean automatic creation of proxy? In my tests, I can left click on a
.mlt clip in the project bin and ask a proxy, it works correctly. Can you give

Change clip speed job

Before investigating this bug, I agree that we can easily change the "reverse
clip" job to make it also handle any speed, and creating .mlt files. I have a
working patch, you can see a screenshot attached. The idea is to replace the
"Reverse clip" entry in clip jobs with a "duplicate clip with speed change"
entry, allowing any speed. The option menu on the right of the speed combobox
allows to set the speed to reverse (-100%) as well as some standards (50%,
200%). Would that be ok for you ? I will also investigate the timeline problem
later.

The "Render with proxy clip" option is still here in the "More options" of the
render widget. Can you make sure it is not checked ? I cannot reproduce your
problem, could you attach a simple project file that has this problem for you?

Interesting, thanks. Looks like the clip you resized had its start point set to
-2, which should not be possible. Do you remember how you resized ? was it a

Yes, I know coredump is supposed to be more useful, however when I tried using
yours, it compained I was not using the same kdenlive version and was unable to
produce any symbol...

My laptop is on Qt 5.6, so maybe that's related.. I do not have a sufficient
knowledge of core dumps, and usually a simple crash backtrace provides enough
hints about where the crash is triggered.

Thanks for your report. I cannot reproduce, and I am wondering if the Kdenlive
package is compiled against Qt 5.6, and if that crash could be caused by you
having Qt 5.7. I am absolutely not familiar with Arch packaging so maybe it's
not the problem. In that case, a gdb backtrace would be easier for me if you
can provide one.

I would vote for ++- :)
There is an option somewhere to disable bin effects. The basic idea in my mind
was that bin effects would mostly be used for color correction which is quite
intense and should be easily disabled separately.
I agree that track effects should be affected when disabling timeline effects,
will look at it..

Please make sure that Kdenlive does not use an older MLT version installed on
your system. You can check the path using in Kdenlive's menu:  Settings >
Configure Kdenlive > Environment.

you can also check from the command line if your mlt version supports titles:

melt -query producers | grep kdenlive

Should output:

Well, if the project was started in 16.04, you should have backup versions
still available from the 16.04 times. You can open a backup version using
"Project > Open backup file". When doing this from a blank project, you will
see all existing backups, you then need to find the correct name/date.

The Kdenlive file format is changing from one version to another and backwards
compatibility, like opening a Kdenlive 16.08 project with Kdenlive 16.04 is not
something we are going to support

Hi, the backtrace you attached is related to another bug report (crash in
audiospectrum). It should be fixed now. About the profile->description crash,
not sure it is related to original crash report. Can you describe precisely
what you do before the crash ? Are you opening a project file ? If yes, what is
your default Kdenlive project format and what is the opened project format ?
