[krunner] [Bug 371505] New: KRunner crashes when launched from terminal emulators

2016-10-22 Thread Jeff Bai via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371505

Bug ID: 371505
Summary: KRunner crashes when launched from terminal emulators
   Product: krunner
   Version: 5.8.0
  Platform: Compiled Sources
   URL: https://github.com/AOSC-Dev/aosc-os-abbs/issues/479
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de
  Reporter: jeffbaich...@gmail.com

When running Plasma Desktop session (so KRunner is running as a daemon in the
background), if one would launch the `krunner' command from any terminal
emulator, a KRunner dialog will show up (prompting for input, works as
expected), but then crashes.

I did not get the chance to make a full debug build of plasma-workspace to test
this issue out thoroughly - but here is the last call until the segmentation
fault:

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch a Plasma Desktop session.
2. Open up Konsole, or any terminal emulator.
3. Run the command `krunner' as the current user.
4. Boom.

Update, enabling only the bottom border wouldn't do the trick. I had to enable

On Plasma/KWin 5.8.1, with...

- The "Resize Window" desktop effect enabled.
- Window border disabled ("No Borders") in Applications Style.

After resizing a window by dragging on the resize handle on either the bottom
left or bottom right corner for the first time, it is not possible to drag the
resize handle any more - while dragging on the top two corners always works.

After disabling the "Resize Window" effect, or enabling border on at least the
bottom end, the problem goes away/

With Plasma 5.8, it is now possible to open the Kicker (the default launcher, I
think?) with the Super Key - this is very cool and nice improvement - however,
I couldn't seem to close/hide the launcher with a second Super Key press.

Is this an issue on my part, or just as designed?

Discover 5.8.0 lists all repositories listed in the sources.list as enabled
(not to mention that I couldn't even disable any of them).

I will attach a screenshot of the issue, my sources.list for your reference.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open up Discover
2. Go to the Settings tab

Actual Results:
All repositories are listed, regardless of if they were enabled or not (seems
like Discover would just list all lines in that file with a keyword "deb").

... And I wasn't able to disable any of them.

Expected Results:
Discover should show only those uncommented in the sources.list.

... And I should be able to enable or disable them (even a PolicyKit prompt
will do).

This is actually a case from my friend using KDE. Today he decided to rename
his own user, and consequently moving his home directory. Now KDE lists two
"Home" in the locations panel to the left, with the one "Home" on the top still
referencing to the old home directory, and a new "Home" on the bottom
referencing to the new and correct home directory.

I will attach a screenshot down below.

P.S. Original home directory was /home/aosc, now it's /home/lion.

Well no... There were conditions before background contrast should be enabled.

- Background Contrast is a plugin for a desktop effect, powered by KWin;
- Then KWin needs to have effects enabled;

The patch above sadly breaks it.

[Breeze] [Bug 361066] New: [Feature Request] GTK+ 3.20 support

2016-03-27 Thread Jeff Bai via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361066

Bug ID: 361066
Summary: [Feature Request] GTK+ 3.20 support
   Product: Breeze
   Version: 5.6.0
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: gtk theme
  Assignee: scionicspec...@gmail.com
  Reporter: jeffbaich...@gmail.com

Breeze GTK+ theme is currently unsupported on GTK+ 3.20, and layouts do break.
Maybe it is related to this change in GTK+ theming framework as described
below...

https://blogs.gnome.org/mclasen/2015/11/20/a-gtk-update/

I can provide screenshots if needed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set GTK+ theme to Breeze
2. Run a GTK+ 3 application (GTK+ 2 works fine of course)
3. Being shocked by broken layouts... broken everything

[Spectacle] [Bug 359560] New: Spectacle's "cross-hair" cursor is quite hard (impossible) to see

2016-02-18 Thread Jeff Bai via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359560

Bug ID: 359560
Summary: Spectacle's "cross-hair" cursor is quite hard
(impossible) to see
   Product: Spectacle
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: m...@baloneygeek.com
  Reporter: jeffbaich...@gmail.com

When trying to create a screenshot with Spectacle with the "rectangular area"
mode, the cursor to create a rectangular area - or a "cross hair" - is nearly
impossible to see the cursor, and the dimmed background certainly wouldn't help
either.

This can create issue when trying to create a screenshot, and this is probably
an a11y issue as well.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open spectacle.
2. Choose "rectangular area" mode.
3. "New screenshot".

Actual Results:
The "cross hair" cursor is not quite visible.

Expected Results:
The "cross hair" should be clear to see.
