[krita] [Bug 409260] Considerable brush stroke lag on 4.2.2

Yeah, sorry about the radio silence. I can no longer trust my previous data as
render related bugs have begun happening in other applications besides krita,
like photoshop, discord, firefox and chrome, so I'm certain at this point
something is wrong with my system and must be behind this and the transparent
interface bug.

I reinstalled 4.2.2, and it still happens with OpenGL. I also tested the
different scaling modes, doesn't seem to make much difference.

Here's a video of 4.2.2 OpenGL:

As you can see the transparent interface is still a problem under OpenGL. Could
these problems be somehow related?

[krita] [Bug 409260] New: Considerable brush stroke lag on 4.2.2

2019-06-27 Thread Neptunian
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409260

Bug ID: 409260
Summary: Considerable brush stroke lag on 4.2.2
   Product: krita
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Brush engines
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: rolffr...@hotmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Ever since krita 4.2.0 was released I've stuck with 4.1.7, because some brush
strokes were visibly lagging behind. This time I recorded a comparison between
4.1.7 and 4.2.2, and it is possible to see the difference very well, especially
in slow motion. The same thing does not happen with the linux app-image. I
wonder if this is a problem with krita or just my system...

[krita] [Bug 409253] New: Feature request: new Rotate Canvas input mode

2019-06-27 Thread Neptunian
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409253

Bug ID: 409253
Summary: Feature request: new Rotate Canvas input mode
   Product: krita
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: All
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: rolffr...@hotmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Currently there are 2 canvas rotation modes (Rotate Mode & Discrete Rotate
Mode) which can be triggered by a modifier key + pen drag.

However the direction and amount of rotation is dependent on the position of
the mouse cursor in relation to the center of the screen. If the cursor is
above the center and drags left, the canvas rotates counterclockwise, if it is
below and drags left, the canvas rotates clockwise. This sounds good in theory
but in practice this behavior is rather unpredictable and erratic, making it
hard to rotate the canvas to where you want it, especially if the cursor is
close to the middle of the screen.

What I would suggest is a simplified "Linear" Canvas Rotate mode (and Discrete
variant), where dragging left rotates counterclockwise, and dragging right
rotates clockwise, independently of the distance or position of the cursor in
relation to the middle of the screen (similar to how the Zoom Mode works).

Thank you very much!

[krita] [Bug 409251] New: Feature request: ability to reassign selection tool action shortcut

2019-06-27 Thread Neptunian
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409251

Bug ID: 409251
Summary: Feature request: ability to reassign selection tool
action shortcut
   Product: krita
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: All
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: rolffr...@hotmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The selection tools have different "actions" (Replace, Intersect, Add &
Subtract), and 3 of those have a hardcoded keyboard shortcut (R, A, S).

It would be great if it was possible to reassign these shortcuts, since I use A
& S as modifiers for Rotate Canvas & Pan Canvas mode, so whenever I rotate or
pan with a selection tool selected it changes action and doesn't behave as
expected.

I also use R to 'Reset Background and Foreground Color', however in this case
when I press R the selection tool action is not changed.

Thank you very much!

Uh, did I set it as linux? If I did, sorry, it's a windows 7 problem.

Question: Does it fix itself if you switch out of OpenGL or sRGB(8bit) on
display settings and restart? That did it over here on windows 7...

I didn't reset the setting but managed to fix it by changing out of sRGB(8 bit)
when using OpenGL, or by using Direct3D 11 via ANGLE. (My monitor is not HDR)

Installed Krita 4.2 (104Mb 64 bit windows install) on windows 7 64 bit, and
when launching the application, the entire window is semi transparent... It was
installed normally over the old 1.7 install, at first I installed to a

exe, reinstalled, restarted my computer, and the U.I. is still transparent.
reinstalled 4.1.7 and had no issues.
