Doesn't UTF-8 cover umlaut (etc) anyway? Maybe it's because in my case it's

[plasmashell] [Bug 413203] Some notifications don't disappear after timeout

I'm added a comment on here , although I think either this or bug 369041 should
be marked as duplicate.

I am seeing this as well.

Info Center gives:

Operating System: Fedora 33
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.75.0
Qt Version: 5.15.1
Kernel Version: 5.9.10-200.fc33.x86_64
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-8650U CPU @ 1.90GHz
Memory: 23.1 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics 620

Its not consistent , if I clear all notifications sometimes things sent with
timeout do go away, sometimes things get stuck and then they all pile up. This
even happens with kdialog with --passivepopup 3

If I clear all notifications, then e.g. "/usr/bin/kdialog --passivepopup
"%subject from %sendername" 3" works again and messages stop piling up.

I do wonder if its Firefox google chat pinned tab that is not timing out that
then causes everything to pile up behind it.

No, sorry I'm not. The kerberos is used as part of authentication to various
(non-windows) services at my work. Template file is
https://github.com/rnc/nicks-shell/blob/master/ansible-linux/templates/krb5.conf.j2

I think its happening on initial startup when it searches for "workgroups and
domains". I can reproduce it on demand by manually running Network/"Scan

[digikam] [Bug 424965] New: Provide UI for Database Network Share for multiple mountpaths

2020-08-03 Thread Nick Cross
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424965

Bug ID: 424965
Summary: Provide UI for Database Network Share for multiple
mountpaths
   Product: digikam
   Version: 7.0.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Database
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@goots.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

I wanted to share a database between multiple operating systems (Linux and
Windows). They would NOT be used simultaneously.

OBSERVED RESULT

Configuring a normal collection doesn't work (as I get duplicates) so I tried
network shares.
However, currently the database configuration UI only allows a single network
share mount point to be configured.

As per
http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/digiKam-users-Sharing-Collection-Database-td4713237.html
it would be much better if I didn't have to edit the database directly to
configure

"networkshareid:?mountpath=/home/rnc/Insync/name1/Pictures"
to
"networkshareid:?mountpath=/home/rnc/Insync/name1/Pictures=D:\name1\Pictures"

which seems to allow either mount to be used transparently.

There is also the problem with locales (as Windows 10 does not have full
support for UTF-8) in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382362

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10
macOS: n/a
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 32 (5.18.5)

KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70.0
Qt Version: 5.14.2

Hi. I do have a firewall (as part of the default F32 install) and I am not part
of any workgroup/domain. Just in case it could affect it, I do have a kerberos
configuration as part of my work setup. To verify whether the firewall affects
it, I did 'systemctl stop firewalld' and then restarted smb4k and I get the
same error. If there is anyway of retrieving more helpful logs for you, I'd be
happy to.

@Alexander - I am still seeing this message ("The URL does not exist") upon my

https://invent.kde.org/network/smb4k/-/blob/master/ChangeLog I thought it was
resolved. I think it would be useful to be able to get more logging/debugging
(e.g. which URL) as I am not sure how to diagnose it further.

QTabBar::tab:selected

Looks like its being looked at in:

Intriguingly the Join developer has found a way around it:

[Plasma Vault] [Bug 410457] New: System Integration for cloud usage (mounting/unlocking)

2019-07-31 Thread Nick Cross
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=410457

Bug ID: 410457
Summary: System Integration for cloud usage
(mounting/unlocking)
   Product: Plasma Vault
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: ivan.cu...@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@goots.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

I have been attempting to use CryFS as encrypted storage for cloud (in my case
dropbox). It would be very useful to :

1. Allow automatic mounting on login
I believe https://mhogomchungu.github.io/sirikali/ also allows this.

Reason : this would be much more user friendly to be able to fully automate the
system setup.

2. Provide optional integration with kwallet / login modules for unlocking of
the encrypted storage.

Reason : Similar to above this means I can have my local laptop which uses full
disk encryption unlock the vault on login so the storage area is ready to use.

Operating System: Fedora 29

Qt Version: 5.11.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.52.0
Kernel Version: 4.19.4-300.fc29.x86_64
OS Type: 64-bit

I am still seeing this but it is not consistent ; connected to wifi the VPN
connections are not always visible (sometimes it does work as expected).
Connected to the VPN the other VPN connections are normally visible. Restarting
plasma shell as per comment 18 does resolve it.
