[Breeze] [Bug 370216] breeze sddm theme could have the password and username field text centered
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370216 --- Comment #1 from Nikos Platis--- If this is ever implemented, the change should also be applied to the lock screen, where the password field is also left-aligned currently. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 360059] Inconsistent and too large font used for time in digital clock plasmoid
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360059 Nikos Platischanged: What|Removed |Added CC||npla...@gmail.com --- Comment #8 from Nikos Platis --- Created attachment 101464 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=101464=edit Screenshot showing the large date size In addition, in Plasma 5.8, the date seems to have a minimum font size that is too big (in previous versions the minimum font size for the date was indeed too small, and it could become unreadable). So, especially if you want to see the full date, you end up using too much space on the taskbar. Also, as it is apparent on the screenshot, the bottom few pixels of the date are cut off at this taskbar size. The screenshot also makes evident why one should be able to customize the date format on the clock (eg. I want to see the day of the week but I would prefer a shorter version), but that's probably on bug 278200... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[KScreen] [Bug 370221] New: kscreen has a wrong entry in the Recent Applications list of launchers
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370221 Bug ID: 370221 Summary: kscreen has a wrong entry in the Recent Applications list of launchers Product: KScreen Version: 5.8.0 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: common Assignee: se...@kde.org Reporter: npla...@gmail.com kscreen (the "Displays" app) has an empty or wrong entry in the Recent Applications list of launchers Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Launch kscreen (the individual app, "Displays", not the Settings module) a few times. Actual Results: In the "Application Dashboard" launcher there must be an empty place in the Recent Applications list; select it and kscreen is started. Similarly, in the "Application Launcher" launcher there must a corresponding empty place in the "History" panel, above Applications (and Documents). In the "Application Menu" launcher, in "Recent Applications" I get an entry with no icon and a mostly random label (at one time it was the name of a recent app, at another time it was the name of a recent file!). Expected Results: There should be an entry "Displays" with the proper icon in the recent applications list. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[KScreen] [Bug 370219] New: kscreen window size is too big for normal laptop screen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370219 Bug ID: 370219 Summary: kscreen window size is too big for normal laptop screen Product: KScreen Version: 5.8.0 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: kcm Assignee: se...@kde.org Reporter: npla...@gmail.com Created attachment 101457 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=101457=edit Screenshot of KScreen window My laptop has the typical 1366x768 screen resolution. If I launch KScreen on its own, the window is too big for my screen and its lower part is behind the task manager bar (see screenshot). The buttons cannot be pressed because they are hidden be the task manager. This is the minimum size of the window Even if I maximize the window, its lower part is still behind the task manager, but fortunately the buttons now are visible. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[Breeze] [Bug 370216] New: breeze sddm theme could have the password and username field text centered
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370216 Bug ID: 370216 Summary: breeze sddm theme could have the password and username field text centered Product: Breeze Version: 5.8.0 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-de...@kde.org Reporter: npla...@gmail.com Everything in the new breeze sddm theme in Plasma 5.8.0 is centered on the screen. But when I start typing my password, the text is left-aligned in the password text field; this really does not look good. The same holds for the username field, if the user chooses to log in as "another" user. I propose that the text on these two fields be centerer. Reproducible: Always -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[Breeze] [Bug 361170] New: breeze sddm theme login screen should use a specific font (Noto Sans?)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361170 Bug ID: 361170 Summary: breeze sddm theme login screen should use a specific font (Noto Sans?) Product: Breeze Version: 5.6.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-de...@kde.org Reporter: npla...@gmail.com I am using the breeze sddm theme, and the login screen uses some (not exactly) arbitrary font for its text components: on one of my computers it is picking up Arial Black, on another Arial Narrow -- probably the first font that it finds. I noticed that the lock screen picks up my KDE font, so this is OK. I believe that the login screen should use some specific font, and since Noto Sans is currently the default KDE font (and most probably installed along with breeze sddm theme) it is a natural choice. Allowing the login screen to use an arbitrary font reduces visual consistency and may lead to an "ugly" login screen while the first impression always matters! Reproducible: Always -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[systemsettings] [Bug 336089] Font preview - rendering problem
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336089 --- Comment #34 from Nikos Platis--- (In reply to Martin Klapetek from comment #33) > But I'm thinking we could just add brand new font rendering > widget to the kcm that replaces the old one and leave everything > else in place (including the bitrotted code). > > That way we could get a working Qt5 renderer and keep the old > one around for things that may break or something. > > The whole thing desperately needs a maintainer though. While thinking about correcting this bug, one has to remember comment #18: if multiple fonts are selected, they appear fine. So this may be easier to solve than the convolved code lets one think, and some experienced KDE developer could probably decipher this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[dolphin] [Bug 353548] With multiple tabs open, Dolphin asks to close the window when terminating KDE session
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=353548 --- Comment #3 from Nikos Platis--- Let me add that this erroneous behavior also has the following adverse side-effect: Supposing you have chosen to restore the KDE session upon login (which is the default setting, if I remember correctly -- and a very useful one), if you "manually" (have to) close the Dolphin window on logout as per this bug, then this window is not restored the next time you login. All this is really unacceptable for something that used to work for years... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
