Hi,
I was able to press ctrl-alt-delete which produced the logout dialog. I took
that to mean my desktop was operating normally, but just not accessible. I

OK So I've done the extraction of kscreenlocker_greet from
"plasma-workspace-5.4.2-4.fc23.x86_64.rpm". Turns out the packaging was
restructured on Fedora 23 from 5.4.2-4 to 5.5.5 and

I can report that the screen locking issue seems fixed with the downgraded
xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.99.917-16.20150729.fc23.x86_64.rpm
There have not been any problems so far.

I have the downgraded the intel driver and have the system working now.
I'll report on its progress over the next few days.

Oops I forgot to put kscreenlocker-greet back in place.
I can activate the kscreenlocker-greet manually now from the right click menu
and it unlocks.
