I also had this issue - but reconfigured sddm to use Wayland
(https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/SDDM#Running_under_Wayland) and the enter key
works with SDDM on Wayland.

Bug ID: 479348
Summary: Plasma 6 Beta 2 - SDDM wont login by pressing enter
after password, needs a mouse click
Classification: KDE Neon
   Product: neon
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Packages Testing Edition
  Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: russe...@ysmail.net
CC: j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org, sit...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

When logging in using Plasma 6 Beta 2, SDDM doesn't login when hitting return
after the password, the icon has to be clicked by the mouse. This happens
whether I first click on the password field or not (checking if focus makes a
difference). Using Breeze.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. boot KDE Neon Plasma 6 beta 2
2. at the login screen type the password
3. hit return to login

OBSERVED RESULT
SDDM does not change - does not login. Have to click the login button to get
SDDM to login.

EXPECTED RESULT
SDDM should login.

and
https://files.kde.org/neon/images/testing/20210803-1819/neon-testing-20210803-1819.iso
These both fail - blank screen, the installer never starts, the light on the
USB flashes constantly.

The iso installs on my Thinkpad T61 (Bios) but not my Surface Pro 3 (UEFI).

Note that Ubuntu (Ubuntu 20.04.2.0 LTS) does install with no issues.

[lattedock] [Bug 433430] New: pop-up preview doesnt work if there are multiple windows (Wayland)

2021-02-22 Thread Russ Hay
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=433430

Bug ID: 433430
Summary: pop-up preview doesnt work if there are multiple
windows (Wayland)
   Product: lattedock
   Version: git (master)
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: application
  Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com
  Reporter: russe...@ysmail.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

If I have multiple windows open for the same app (e.g. Konsole), then clicking
the icon in latte dock does not show the preview. requires multiple clicks to
get the preview to work.

If I only have a single instance of the app open, it works as expected.

*I am running git(master) on KDE Neon (Wayland).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open two windows for an app (e.g. Konsole)
2. Minimise both windows
3. click the Konsole icon in latte dock,

OBSERVED RESULT
it does not show the window preview. The preview only shows after the 3rd or
fourth click.

EXPECTED RESULT
the pop-up preview should show on the first click

[lattedock] [Bug 417546] [Wayland] crash when right clicking app icon in latte-dock panel

2020-05-06 Thread Russ Hay
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417546

I just downloaded git master and built it - latte dock no longer crashes, but
the right-click on an icon only calls up the context-menu briefly and then it
disappears (so same behaviour as before) - but there isn't a subsequent crash.
I can right-click on a vacant area above the dock to get into the latte-dock
config options though.

2019-02-02 Thread Russ Hay

If Kwin/Wayland gesture recognition is implemented, then surely that include
some analog for a right-click, whether that's a long-press or some thing else?
Is there some forum/mailing list where this can be discussed other than a bug
report?

2019-01-31 Thread Russ Hay

Bug ID: 403806
Summary: please support a right-click (via a long press) on
touchscreens.
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.14.90
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: wayland-generic
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: russe...@ysmail.net
  Target Milestone: ---

As touchscreen devices become more prevalent, can the capability to simulate a
right-click with a long touch on the screen be added? I know this is available
in other DE's - can you advise if this is on any KDE roadmap?

Apologies for not contributing a patch on this, but if I had the capability I
would.

Okay, I thought this was supported as the example in the Latte-dock wiki FAQ
page here show it being mapped to the Meta key.

Thanks for the speedy response tho
