Considering the number of votes (only 2 since 2017) on this issue, I suppose
it's not an interesting feature to fix.
Therefore, I reported a suggestion on a 3rd party site to have at least an
extension

wrong. For sure it's clear that it must be removed or at least regulated

As already said, the advantages to have a configurable dimming are many from a
genaral UI point of view. Some of them:
- Dimmed windows that illuminates on mouse hovering is eye popping on the long
