STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Find some installation that was used with some KIO functions that involve ~/.cache/kioexec/krun/ 2. Check this folder. OBSERVED RESULT Folder is full of old files, in some cases huge archives that are copies of already present files that take up space. EXPECTED RESULT Folder is always cleaned up after use. Maybe that's the case currently but is there at least a PSA to clean it up manually somewhere I missed? Is the problem known? SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS unknown, at least the ones available in Kubuntu repos during 2017-2018 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Alternative hypothesis is that it's due to some process crashing. The setting is ignored completely because default web browser overrides it. 3. Try changing setting of browser to "In an application based on the contents of the URL". Files open in Kate now. But all URLs too. EXPECTED RESULT There is a way to make files open in text editor and URLs in browser. ACTUAL RESULT No way to make files open in Kate and URLs in browser. You either have to remember that you have to open every HTML file through three clicks or have very hard time using any application that depends on opening links because they open in Kate. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set the main panel to autohide. 2. Log out and log in. 3. Trigger/Send any popup notification. Actual Results: Notifications appear just for a couple of frames in the top left corner regardless of their location settings. Expected Results: Notification visible for set period of time in the desired screen corner. Panel is on the left in case it matters. Never seen both IRL, but it's possible, yes (but why leave remote session on and locked?). More, on most systems it's even still possible to both put the machine to sleep or shutdown it by switching to a [locked] TTY console unless these ACPI events are disabled (not the default in most cases, isn't it?).
