konqueror 23.11.70 + frameworks 5.104 - still no output
konqueror 23.11.70 (and newer) + frameworks 5.111.0 produces some output.

I have 19 sessions and the list appears as follows, and the cursor just hangs
at the end of the line, no line breaks seem to be being output:

1. The recently used files list has loaded up and when deleted / emptied, it
remails filled up, the next time it is opened.

1. a) The recently used files list needs to be EXPANDABLE - from 10, to 25, 50
and 100 recently used files.

2. There is no way to set it from the "bearded wierdo's in the basement"
default save directory, into the directory of choice.
This is just plain dumb and a change is needed.

3. I use it to write all my notes in - and documents etc., copy paste / attend
to later etc., because it saves everything without formatting as plain text -
while it's not super brilliant as a document / web page content formatter etc.,
it does strip out all the code and it's ideal for paragraphs and comments for
use in other documents, and for shopping lists that can be copied to my phone -
the "plain.txt" files run on everything and are easy to format, and copy and
past into and out of.

But there is no text (*.txt) default saving function - by choice.

Part of my shopping list.

delete - Got it, delete / Been there - delete, Been there - delete.

4. It would be good to have the "Borders" and other functions, set so they can
be switched on and off permanently - rather than on a session by session basis.

Sometimes some people have good ideas, but when many functions are on, and they
have to be kept turning off, every time you use the product, then the question
arises, "WHY isn't there a choice between ALWAYS ON, and manually having to
switch everything off, every time.?"

2021-12-14 Thread Shane Whitmire

   Product: Breeze
   Version: 5.23.4
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

  Priority: NOR
 Component: Color scheme
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: dogunbou...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

[url]https://imgur.com/gallery/vScsErk[/url]

The calendar popup in the default standalone clock widget is unusable with
breeze light / breeze theme. This is due to the text color being white on top
of a whitish background. The characters are near impossible to read

Suggestion: make the standalone clock widget calendar popup text black.

Funnily enough, I thought the problem was due to me using a lighter background
theme as highlighted here
[url]https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=19=173509[/url] causing the
transparency mode to mess up, but that was not exactly the case. With lighter
backgrounds, it amplifies this problem to the point where some of the text is
literally unreadable.

I tested the calendar with a darker background and found out that it was still
difficult to fix, but better.

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Raspbian linux, Automatic recording schedule won't be setup after guide data
loaded from OTA antenna in USA. Worked until "sudo apt full-upgrade" on
Raspbian 10/buster. Work around is to click Ok button from regex screen after
downloading guide data. I use crontab to do that, so I'd have to do it once a
day.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Go to Television menu, Configure Television, Automatic Recording, Click Add new
Regex, type show name. Close Kaffeine. Open Kaffeine. Go to the channel and
watch it until the guide data for that show is downloaded. Confirm the show
name is listed in the Guide. Close Guide and open Recording. See that the show
is not listed there.

OBSERVED RESULT
Open Automatic Recording screen again and click ok. Return to Recording screen
and see that the show now appears in the list.

EXPECTED RESULT
When Guide displays the show name, then Recordings screen should also add the
show to the list automatically.

I'm running 19.12.3, so can't really confirm this or not.

Note also that this does not appear to be easily repeatable. I just
tried the series of actions that I reported earlier and it seemed to

I know that's not a super follow-up to a bug report, but that's what I

[konqueror] [Bug 424976] New: New instance / new tabs no longer respect user defined HomeURL/startURL, nor predefined start URLS

2020-08-03 Thread Shane Richards
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424976

Bug ID: 424976
Summary: New instance / new tabs no longer respect user defined
HomeURL/startURL, nor predefined start URLS
   Product: konqueror
   Version: 5.0.97
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: konq-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: shaner...@email.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Konqueror does not open/new tabs with desired initial URL, as specified in
konquerrorrc.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
(Note that it is almost impossible to give a recipe, as the results are
inconsistent, also depends on whether you restore previous session or not.)
1. Open Preferences->General
2. Select start URL (Bookmarks/Blank/Start Page) - in the case of user defined
start page input, for example home directory (either as a regular
'/home/myaccount' or as 'file:///home/myaccount')
3. Open a new tab, or instance of konq

OBSERVED RESULT
Varies wildly. For new tabs, most often, the warning page declaring that "Could
not initialize protocol konq" (my translation, the actual text may be a little
different in English). Although sometimes it will open the "Introduction Page"
Selecting "Open with Blank Page/Bookmarks" opens with the "Introduction Page"
(at the moment), however, after altering this value, sometimes it opens with
bookmarks, sometimes with the error page.

Killing all konqueror sessions and then editing the konquerorrc produces the
same results. Inconsistent, and seemingly unable to open my preferred URL (home
directory).

EXPECTED RESULT
Konquer respects the users wishes for intial page/url, in a consistent manner.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

1. On the command line, URLS can be opened as normal, even so, the error
"QFSFileEngine::open: No file name specified" is often produced.

2. At the moment, opening Preferences->General the drop down keeps reverting to

[kmymoney] [Bug 424180] New: Payment from scheduled transactions incorrectly allocated when using similar accounts

2020-07-14 Thread Shane
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424180

Bug ID: 424180
Summary: Payment from scheduled transactions incorrectly
allocated when using similar accounts
   Product: kmymoney
   Version: 5.1.0
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: database
  Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: gi6...@tiscali.co.uk
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Payments allocated against wrong accounts when using scheduled transactions
(with splits) from two similar accounts on different dates.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enter scheduled transaction from account 1 (50 High Street) on any date
(usually first of month)
2. Enter scheduled transaction from account 2 (52 High Street) on subsequent
date (usually one day later)
3. Save and exit

OBSERVED RESULT
Payments from 50 High Street are allocated against 52 High Street. Splits are
also incorrectly recorded so that it appears that two payments have been
received from account 2 (52 High Street) each month, and nothing received from
account 1 (50 High Street).

EXPECTED RESULT
Payments and splits from account 1 (50 High Street) should be allocated
correctly instead of being allocated against account 2 (52 High Street).

romeoK, The kaffeine command line will allow opening a channel. Perhaps you can
find a cron or bash script way to open it to the correct channel without
needing to change the package.

Converting formats is CPU intensive. CPU was the main cause of my overheating
in the past.

Simplest solution is to play the recording/recorded video using the Pi over an
HDMI to the TV. The MPlayer (SMPlayer is better because it remembers your spot
when you resume) can play the format and seems to perform better for me.

I am using an external Sata III hard drive, which seems faster than a flash
drive.

Kaffeine works correctly when configured properly.

1. This can happen if you record to SDCard on your PI! Change Kaffeine to store
on a USB drive, make sure its externally powered or like me your mouse/keyboard
may become flaky. on PI4 I'm able to record two shows at the same time while
watching another show on Chromium. After setting up a show to record on the
guide I'd recommend clicking the Stop button so live video doesn't display.
2. Click one of the channels to watch.

Okay, I think I have this solved. I forgot that "downloadUrl" has an "query"

issue:

I'll send an email to the marble google maps github team to get this updated.

I'm currently using Marble 17.12, but this issue seems to go back to at least

[marble] [Bug 389581] New: "Custom" maps not working if "?" character is within URL Path

2018-01-28 Thread Shane Hill

Bug ID: 389581
Summary: "Custom" maps not working if "?" character is within

   Product: marble
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

  Assignee: marble-b...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

I was trying to create my own map server for marble and could not get it
working. I tried the Google maps at https://github.com/freayd/marble-maps/ and
had the same issue. The Google Maps has a URL definition of:

I placed some print statements within ServerLayout.cpp at function
CustomServerLayout::downloadUrl() and the above definition returns an example
of:

http://mt3.google.com/vt%3Flyrs=m=1=5=3

It seems that the "?" character has been replaced with "%3F" (a correct
conversion, but using this link does not work. Replacing the "%3F" with the "?"
character seems to fix the problem. I added the code:

urlStr.replace( "%3F", "?");

So... should the substitution of "?" to "%3F"be done at this level in the code?
Should another character be used within the XML syntax? Any
thoughts? Thanks.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378962

Bug ID: 378962
Summary: New accounts are closed after creation and cannot be
edited
   Product: kmymoney
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: shane_1...@hotmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Kmymoney 4.8.0

After creating new account and posting payment into it from the ledger, the
account is closed and transactions cannot be edited.
In the ledger, Kmymoney reports "Cannot process transactions in account XYZ ,
which is closed"

>From the accounts menu, edit does not allow the account to be reopened as this
option is greyed out.

The creation date on the account predates any transactions posted to it.

Bug ID: 377940
   Summary: Konsole crash after ctrl-D
   Product: kde
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: sh...@time-travellers.org

Application: kdeinit5 (16.12.0)

Qt Version: 5.7.1
Frameworks Version: 5.28.0
Operating System: Linux 4.9.0-2-amd64 x86_64
Distribution: Debian GNU/Linux 9.0 (stretch)

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I started konsole with a keyboard shortcut (ctrl-alt-T) that I have set up. I
did this by accident (I wanted a new tab, with ctrl-T). I used ctrl-D to exit
the shell. It quit fine, but I was told that it crashed by KDE.

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.

[kded-appmenu] [Bug 369044] New: Meta opens application menu, but doesn't close it

2016-09-19 Thread Shane via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369044

Bug ID: 369044
Summary: Meta opens application menu, but doesn't close it
   Product: kded-appmenu
   Version: 5.7.95
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: menu popup
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: kenshii.sod+...@gmail.com

I can open the application by pressing the meta key, but pressing it again
doesn't close the menu.
It stays open.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Press the meta key, opening the application menu.
2. Press the meta key again. The application menu should close.

Actual Results:
The meta key opens the application menu, but pressing it again doesn't close
it.

Expected Results:
Pressing the meta key should have allowed you to both open and close the
application menu, as the Alt-F1 keybind does.
