https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=444160 dajomu changed: What|Removed |Added CC||dajo...@gmail.com --- Comment #3 from dajomu --- I agree with Jonathan. Instead of listing unknown and unconfirmed faces as an endless list of photos, similar faces should be grouped like e.g. Picasa. In digikam there is one "album" which contains unknown faces while in Picasa there are one album for each unknown face. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=444501 --- Comment #2 from dajomu --- Hi, my apologies, I think that the fault is in Google photos (GP). I was sure that GP sorted images by creation date, but it seems like they read modified date instead. It is really annoying. Issue is not with digikam but rather GP. Can digikam sort images by modified date? Can digikam change modified date as a batch process? I would like to set modified date to creation date so that GP sort the files properly. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[digikam] [Bug 444501] New: Face detection, write name tags (metadata) to file - Changes date and time on photo
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=444501 Bug ID: 444501 Summary: Face detection, write name tags (metadata) to file - Changes date and time on photo Product: digikam Version: 7.3.0 Platform: Microsoft Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: Faces-Detection Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: dajo...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I am running digikam 7.3 and did a face detection, enabled write name tags to photo metadata. After tagging several faces I run face recognition and digikam started to change date and time on photos. I did not discover this immediately. Since I upload photos to google photos I saw that old photos appeared as taken in October 2021. Checking the photos, surely the date and time had changed. There must be something seriously wrong on how digikam processes face detection/recognition/writing name tags to photos. Not sure what exactly is causing this and I do not know how to investigate either. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enable writing name tags to photo 2. run detect faces 3. train algorithm by adding nametags 4. run recognize faces OBSERVED RESULT photo time and date should change, maybe EXPECTED RESULT no change other than adding name tags to photo SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[digikam] [Bug 431037] Very poor performance when applying actions (e.g. refresh folder, apply tag) -> takes very long with 7.2.0 Beta-2
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431037 dajomu changed: What|Removed |Added CC||dajo...@gmail.com --- Comment #16 from dajomu --- Hi, I find digikam 7.3 slow at scanning photo collection as well. I am using wifi, but I am sure Picasa would do this much quicker. Will do a test and post the result. My last scan was done after the NAS was mounted to a new ip-address, but using the same drive letter p:. Digikam did not understand that it is the same collection and I had to rescan. I that in the discussion it is mentioned that "we have to open the files several times to read them in order to use Exiv2 to fetch the metadata, create a thumbnail etc." Is that statement valid in my case as well where the thumbnails already exist? Should be mentioned that the thumbnails lives on my laptop.
