Yup. On the other hand, then the desktop items would all have the symlink badge
and the text would be italicized, which I could see people objecting to. Then

from the end user point of view, a shortcut added to desktop
is not a file. It's jusy a shortcut. And it becomes useless
when its app is uninstalled.
