Could be this library the issue? Most likely not, the plugin is required to actually listen to mp3. I was wondering: did the stream behavior change compared to an earlier version or is this happening only in this particular stream? can it be reproduced with other streams (which would then clearly point to Amarok or one of its dependencies) or is this behavior specific to this stream?
