Korean Hangul is two parts, Syllables and jamo(Consonants & vowels).

Korean Hangul jamo is sometimes uses standalone.

Example1] ㅋㅋㅋ (Laugh out loud)
Example2] ㅎㅎㅎ (hahaha)

These also can count as a word in Korean.
