[digikam] [Bug 379081] GPS data are in file but geolocation indicator is not shown and map view empty
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379081 --- Comment #9 from Axel Schwank--- Yes, with the 5.9.0 AppImage version, it works as it used to do, e.g. the "Album / Reread Metadata from Images" menu item updates geolocation and other metadata correctly. If I decide to continue using the 5.5.0 version, as this is the version that my current distribution provides, is the rescan of metadata from the "Captions" sidebar equivalent to the menu item in 5.9.0 or 4.x versions? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[digikam] [Bug 379081] GPS data are in file but geolocation indicator is not shown and map view empty
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379081 --- Comment #8 from caulier.gil...@gmail.com --- Please test with last stable digiKam 5.9.0 AppImage universal Linux bundle released few days ago. 5.5.0 is a little bit old, and a lots of bugs have been killed since this release... [digikam] [Bug 379081] GPS data are in file but geolocation indicator is not shown and map view empty
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379081 Axel Schwankchanged: What|Removed |Added CC||a...@hiq2.com --- Comment #7 from Axel Schwank --- I can confirm the behaviour stated both in comment #4 and comment #5 for digikam 5.5.0 under Linux (openSuse Leap 42.3, KDE 5.32.0). The geolocation indicator shows up and the correct location is displayed in the right "map" sidebar after a re-scan of the metadata is forced as described in Gilles' comment #4, but NOT from the menu item "Album / Reread Metadata from Images" as Ulrich describes in comment #5. This was sufficient in previous versions of digikam. Is it meant to be this way? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 379081] GPS data are in file but geolocation indicator is not shown and map view empty
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379081 --- Comment #5 from ulrich.demleh...@gmail.com --- Quite interesting ...;-)) This Captions/More/Read metadata... process does also work in v5.5, no need to install v5.6. I now see the geolocation indicator and the map view shows the location of the picture. But if I use the menubar Item/Reread metadata... process (which I used to use when trying to came up with a solution to the problem), nothing happens. I now tried the Captions/More/Read metadata... process for all files in that very subdirectory (no file had had shown the geolocation indicator) and everything looks good now. So obviously the Captions/... and the menubar Item/... processes use two different pieces of program code? Ulrich -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379081 --- Comment #4 from caulier.gil...@gmail.com --- Can you test with 5.6.0 pre-release installer for Windows : https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BzeiVr-byqt5Y0tIRWVWelRJenM Note : You need to force digiKam to re-scan image metadata. Select your image frim icon view, go to "Captions" tab from right side bar, "More" button, and use right option from menu. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379081 --- Comment #2 from ulrich.demleh...@gmail.com --- Sure, no problem besides the size of the file (6 MB). I had to upload it into my Dropbox. Please download it from https://www.dropbox.com/s/uik5fyf26guwm7f/IMG_1502_3_4.jpg?dl=0 and let me know if that worked.
