I've read your comment and as far, as i remember, i've reported the bug to
libgphoto too. I can mitigate this Problem by copying all selected photos to a
usb-drive and import them from there with digicam.

this crash is not relevant of digiKam but libgphoto2. Did you report as
UPSTREAM this problem ?
