From around 50,000 albums it slows down. When viewing, you should not activate the recursive album view in the View Menu if your album has such a large number of images. The problem is known and we already have a bug report about it. All thumbnails of the album will actually be loaded into the view starting from the selected album. The SQLite database actually contains around 400,000 thumbnails. The only Album "CD AlbumHTML UTF-8" has a recursive structure from 2001 until 2023 with 107,000 thumbnails: The selection when closing then displaying the thumbnails is on the year 2023 which contains 2 sub-folders 1- Year 2023 2- Sub-folder 1: Miscellaneous semester 1 3- Sub-folder 2: Miscellaneous Semester 2 When opening, the selection is for the year 2023. This year contains 3000 thumbnails. I see that loading the albums from your external hard drive from the database takes a relatively long time, about 2 minutes. But I suspect that these contain a really large number of sub-albums. Otherwise I don't see any problems in the log. A good optimization would be to activate WAL mode in the database settings.
