I deleted ~/.config/dolphinrc and the view properties in
~/.local/share/dolphin/,
and a new window keeps crashing.

Okay, according to the OpenSuse Tumbleweed package history two weeks would
match up pretty well with the release of Dolphin v18.04.3, so it's likely that
a commit between 18.04.2 and 18.04.3 is causing this crash

I am not exactly sure, i think i notice it about 2 weeks ago, i am not sure
which update caused it, but i update my system(tumbleweed suse) almost daily.
