It solves this exact task. But I agree, it is rather hard to find when you do not know it exists. I was searching for the solution for this task, searched existing extensions. I found an obsolete extension for this task, ported it to kde 5. And then at a publish time, discovered there is "KDE 5 Template Manager". For some reason, I did not found it at a first search.
