I quess not that is a kernel error.
As stated in comment 11 the kernel (4.14+) now sends bind uvents when the
driver gets bound to a physical device.

Same issue here. Slackware Linux 14.2/-current with KDE 5.41.0 / Plasma 5.11.4.
With Linux-4.14.12 i can not mount my mobile phone using mtp:/. Switching back
to LTS-4.4.110 and everything is fine.

Problem pertains with Plasma 5.14.4 and Kernel 4.14.3. No problems when using
last LTS Kernel (4.9.66).
Last kernel version where it functioned was EOL 4.13 series.
