Sound alarms work on my Neon system (which is an Ubuntu derivative, as is
Kubuntu). I have the following phonon packages installed:
libphonon4qt5-4
libphonon4qt5-bin
libphonon4qt5experimental4
phonon4qt5

Thanks for that information.
Note that package dependencies are the responsibility of distributions, so you
should report any missing dependent packages to Kubuntu.

Sound (.ogg or .mp3 files) does not work even after installing additional
packages.
Additionally i found out that there is no way to spread the columns so you can
never see the whole time. But that is another issue and
