This should be closed. The behavior is intended. You can toggle show/hide the
sidebar this way and the selected tabs/tools are then visible. The sidebar
stuff was redone (may appear in some next release) but kept most of its
behavior.

I'd be fine with that. Personally also don't see a reason to have both actions
do the same thing here.

The only fix that I have in mind for this is completely removing this drag to
close functionality. It offers little practical benefit.
