It could be the small selection I just oversaw. I installed 4.1.7 again because I don't get how it works with the zip file. Use select-all or deselect to change that. Note that you do not need to install Krita: you can use the portable zip version, which you can just unpack somewhere, like on your desktop. Since 4.2.1 doesn't run, please download 4.1.7 again (https://download.kde.org/stable/krita/4.1.7/) and add the contents of the help->system information for bug reports to this bug report. I can still use the calligraphy pen but no other brushes.
