It also works fine here on Kubuntu 18.04 with DejaVu Sans and DejaVu Serif

Curious detail: If I write the text in another program, and I use it for Krita,
the graphic signs of the accentuation appear. So it seems to be a problem with
KDE's relationship to the keyboard.

Native or installed fonts do not work accents: Ubuntu, Dejavu sans, wild words
Roman, for example. But they work on other applications.

Okay, I see. Well, that I cannot reproduce: it works fine for me with a Dutch
keyboard layout with the KDE Plasma desktop on KDE Neon (based Ubuntu 20.40).

Yes, I press the accent first, then the letter to get accent.
I'm using Latin, Portuguese alphabet. In other programs, the accentuation
(examples: É, é, ã, à, ê ...) works.
