I should additionally note, I'm on AMD hardware now... so I can't comment as to
if there's any remaining nvidia specific issue.

I don't see this appear at the top left of the screen, and haven't for a while,
but it's still not "in the right spot."

Can you give some context as to when those changes "have landed"? What release
version are they expected in? I'm running Yakuake 21.12.2 and still see the
window appear at centered vertically of my screen, rather than at the top of my
screen.

I can not reproduce this anymore. It does require some changes in yakuake which
have landed. Given it is window positioning it is unlikely to be nvidia
related. Can you confirm this works with a newer yakuake?

As I mentioned above, I'm using xorg. P.S. I'm using Nvidia Xorg.
