In qpdfview you can select the rendering engine that poppler should use (Splash
vs. Arthur), their rendering might be different. There is also a Cairo-based
engine that GTK based viewers use.

@Alberto My screen is a 24" model with 1920x1200 resolution, I don't think
that's hidpi?
