that's really strange, do you have a backtrace for those "idle" crashes?
About the one for reloading on pdflatex, can you reproduce it?

It means that on an idle machine, okular crashes sometimes. I am sorry to have
no more information, nor any way to reproduce this inconsistent behaviour.
