A screenshot of the error message shown when the device attempts and fails to
reconnect to a public wifi network,

SUMMARY
When a user's device boots up, if it attempts to automatically reconnect to to
a public wifi network where "Sign In" authentication is required via the
browser (i.e. hotel wifi), then the user will be given an obscure and
unintuitive error message. This feature request proposes a solution that is
more user friendly.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect to a public wifi network where "Sign In" authentication is required.
2. Reboot the device.
3. (a) As far as I know, re-authentication will probably not be necessary
immediately, but once the user's current wifi session has been ended, then this
issue can be reproduced.
3. (b) After rebooting, the following error message will present itself.

OBSERVED RESULT
***
"Server Authentication - KDE Daemon"
"The server failed the authenticity check (location.services.mozilla.com). The
host name did not match any of the valid hosts for this certificate"
"Details" "Continue" "Cancel"
***

This dialog prompt is not very intuitive, and will likely lead a user to
believe that something else has gone wrong on their system. However, after
performing "Sign In" authentication to the public wifi network (typically by
going to the "Sign In" IP address, since the user is rarely redirected to the
page automatically), the error message goes away until the user's current
session is "signed out" once more.

PROPOSED RESULT
As one possible solution (although there are numerous others that would be more
user friendly than the current popup), this feature request suggests that KDE
adopt a system similar to Android's UI, in which a message similar to this pops
up.
***
"Sign into Wi-Fi Network"
"The network you're connecting to requires you to sign in through your browser
first."
"Don't Sign In" "Open Browser"
***

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.95.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Note: I am not certain that this is supposed to be under the "plasma-nm"
category, but it seemed to be the closest one, since this feature request is
"network" and "plasma" related.
