Thanks for the update. I confirm that killing xembedsniproxy removes the blank
entry.
However, I don't have fcitx on my system, and I have no idea what program might
be responsible for the entry.

Anyway, I'll wait for Plasma 5.6

Probably a bug that was fixed for Plasma 5.6, please reoen if you still see
this afterwards.

The same happens to me. Killing the process xembedsniproxy makes the blank
space disappear.
