When I try opening emacs from either a launcher icon on my panel or from the
kickoff menu, most times I end up with an unresponsive panel as well as the
inability to right click on my desktop. Switching to a virtual terminal and
then back to tty7 seems to unstick things.
Steps to reproduce
1. Log in
2. Start emacs
