I'm also seeing that there is no option to pin to task manager, when you search
for kmail in the Application Launcher although you can pin Kmail Header Theme
Editor application.
Maybe this Pin option is some missing configuration in the application itself,
that needs to expose this feature?

I think this is because "waterfox" is just a file/binary search result, it's
not a menu entry search result.

Alternatively, Pin for search result was actually only added in 5.11.x IIRC, if
you're on an older ver perhaps.

Created attachment 110738
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=110738=edit
Right click menu does not include a "Pin" action.

Hello, I think that the issue I face is related to this one. When I search in
the Application Launcher to find an application to Pin to the Task Manager, I
don't have the option to do so. The only option I get is to "Open Containing
Folder".

Please see attached file.

Perhaps adding the "Pin" option to this menu (the menu that appears on right
click) could help solve the OP's issue as well.

I guess we might eventually add the per-activity submenu to the context menu of
Kicker-based launchers.
